How Shocker HD Air Ride Works
20K-Rated Air Spring
A heavy-duty multi-ply rubber air bag carries up to 20,000 lbs of trailer while soaking up the road shock that would otherwise pound your truck and cargo. Same proven guts as the HD Red, finished to match the matte-black chassis.
Adjustable for Heavy Loads
A big trailer can swing more than 1,000 lbs between empty and loaded. Pump in air for a max-weight run, bleed it off for the deadhead home. The HD air bag has a wider usable pressure range than the 14K, so it keeps up with heavier swings.
Reinforced HD Chassis
Keeps the same external 8-hole geometry, so every Shocker ball mount still fits, but the steel is thicker-walled with reinforced welds rated for 20K loads. Finished in the same textured matte-black powder coat.
Rocker-Arm Pivot

The HD Max Black comes in a 3-inch receiver for dual-rear-wheel one-ton trucks, a size the Max Black 14K doesn't offer.
Flippable Drop / Rise Geometry
This HD Max Black base frame ships complete with pins and an 8-adjustment-hole ball-mount setup (no ball mount included). Most Shocker ball mounts flip, so you can turn a drop into a rise, and the 8 adjustment holes let you fine-tune coupler height. Heavy bumper-pull trailers are picky about sitting level. Get the drop wrong and you overload either the front or rear trailer axle, so take the time to dial it in.
