What tools do I need?

Two categories. The Air Bumper Hitch and the Gooseneck Surge Air need no tools to install — just a way to inflate the air bag (bike pump, any compressor, or our mini air compressor). The Quick Air pin box and the Air Trailer Tongue Mount bolt onto the trailer, so those need a torque wrench and a socket set.

Can I install it myself?

Most owners install it themselves. The bumper pull and Air Equalizer setups are quite simple and can be done solo. The larger products like the gooseneck and 5th wheel are bulkier, so a second person helps with positioning. Most hitch dealers and trailer shops will also install for a flat fee.

Not usually. Shocker is designed primarily to reduce road shock and chucking, not replace sway control systems. If your trailer requires sway control, we recommend sway bars or a weight-distribution kit for your application.

There is no standardized industry test for shock absorption. Testing conditions and trailer setup change results dramatically. We focus on real-world towing performance rather than a marketing percentage.
