Stop destroying your trailer and cargo.
Every bump, pothole, and expansion joint sends a violent jolt through your trailer frame, damaging cargo and wearing out your truck. Shocker Air Ride Hitches absorb that punishment at the coupling, before it reaches your trailer.
A solid ball mount hands every bump, frost heave, and hard stop straight to your truck. The trailer chucks, the load rattles, and your neck feels it by the end of a long day. The Shocker Impact Cushion 14K takes the edge off all of it without asking anything of you in return. It runs the same proven 8-hole steel chassis as the Original Shocker Air Hitch, but swaps the airbag for sealed dual rubber bump cushions, so there is no air pressure to monitor, no compressor to own, and nothing to service. This Impact Cushion Hitch & Drop Ball Mount w/2" Ball is rated at 14,000 lbs GTW with 0" to 7-1/2" of drop, fits any 2-inch receiver, and runs roughly 30 to 40% less than the air-ride version while still pulling noticeably smoother than any solid ball mount.
Key Highlights

How the Dual Bump Cushion System Works
Two Sealed Rubber Bump Cushions
A pair of dense rubber bump stops sit between the ball mount arm and the receiver frame. When the trailer tugs and bounces down the road, the cushions squash and spring back, soaking up the shock right at the hitch so it never reaches your truck, your cargo, or you.
The Ball Mount Actually Moves
The ball mount pivots on the same lever-arm geometry as the air-ride Original Shocker. That bit of give is exactly why a cushion hitch rides smoother than a chunk of solid steel pinned to your bumper.
Sealed and Maintenance-Free
The cushions are bonded inside the frame, so there is no air valve, no pressure gauge, and nothing to service. Bolt it in once and pull with it for the life of the truck.
Naturally Sway-Resistant
The pivoting cushion design settles the fore-aft jerks that kick off trailer sway. Heavy loads still call for a dedicated sway control kit, but most light and mid-weight trailers tow noticeably calmer right out of the gate.
Built For These Buyers
Pick the Impact Cushion when you want a smoother tow but never want to think about air pressure again.
- Weekend and seasonal haulers who tow a handful of times a year
- Anyone who does not want to babysit air pressure or buy a compressor
- Boat, fish house, snowmobile, and ice house haulers
- Contractors running skid steer, dump, and equipment trailers
- Anyone who wants a real ride upgrade over a solid ball mount without overspending
- Fleets that want zero ongoing hitch maintenance
Cushion vs Air Ride: How to Choose
Both pull smoother than a solid mount. What separates them is suspension travel, how much you can tune, and price.
Impact Cushion 14K (this product)
Rubber cushions, roughly 30 to 40% cheaper, and zero maintenance. You get less suspension travel than air ride, but a clear step up from solid steel. Best for occasional or light-duty towing, and for anyone who values simplicity over dialing things in.
Original Shocker Air Hitch (air-ride sibling)
The same chassis with an adjustable airbag added. More travel, a smoother ride at any weight, and you can set the pressure to match each trailer. It costs more, needs a compressor, and the airbag is a wear item (rare to fail, and field-replaceable when it does). Best for daily towers and heavy use.
Set It and Forget It
If you only tow a few times a year, the last thing you want is a hitch that nags you for attention. The Impact Cushion 14K bolts in, pulls trailers smoothly, and never needs servicing. There is no air pressure to check before you leave, no airbag to inspect, and no compressor riding along in the toolbox. If you came to Shocker for the name but do not want the air-ride routine, this is the line built for exactly that.
Same Ecosystem as the Original Shocker
Because the Impact Cushion runs the same chassis as the Original Shocker, every ball mount attachment in the Shocker catalog drops right on. Combo balls, pintle hooks, clevises, drawbars, raised mounts, drop mounts, they all fit. Buy the base frame once and swap attachments as your trailers change. It is finished in a safety red textured powder coat that stays visible on the road and shrugs off chips, and it ships direct from our Canadian warehouse with no border wait.
