Stop destroying your trailer and cargo.
Every bump, pothole, and expansion joint sends a violent jolt through your trailer frame, damaging cargo and wearing out your truck. Shocker Air Ride Hitches absorb that punishment at the coupling, before it reaches your trailer.
Every solid ball mount sends the road straight up into your truck. Frost heaves, expansion joints, and hard stops jar through the hitch, chuck the trailer around, and wear on everything you are hauling. The Shocker Impact Cushion 14K softens that hit without asking anything of you. It runs the same proven 8-hole steel chassis as the Original Shocker Air Hitch, but swaps the airbag for sealed dual rubber bump cushions, so there is no air pressure to monitor, no compressor to own, and no maintenance to keep up with. This Impact Cushion Hitch & Drop Ball Mount w/2-5/16" Ball hauls up to 14,000 lbs GTW, gives you 0" to 7-1/2" of drop to sit your trailer level, and slides into any 2-inch receiver. It runs roughly 30 to 40% less than the air-ride version and still tows noticeably smoother than any solid steel mount.

How the Dual Bump Cushion System Works
Two Sealed Rubber Cushions Take the Hit
A pair of dense rubber bump stops sits between the ball mount arm and the receiver frame. When the trailer tugs and bounces, the cushions squash down and spring back, soaking up the jolt right at the hitch so it never reaches you in the cab.
A Pivot That Does the Smoothing
The ball mount pivots on the same lever-arm geometry as the air-ride Original Shocker. That pivot is what lets a cushion hitch ride smoother than a chunk of solid steel bolted behind your bumper.
Bolt It In and Walk Away
The cushions are bonded inside the frame. No air valve to open, no gauge to read, no servicing to schedule. Install it once and pull with it for as long as you own the truck.
Calmer Against Sway
Those fore-aft jerks that get a trailer swaying? The pivoting cushion design damps them down, so most light and mid-weight trailers track calmer behind you. On heavy loads you will still want a dedicated sway control kit, and the cushion does real work on its own.
Who This Hitch Is Built For
If you want a smoother tow without ever thinking about air pressure, this is the one to grab.
- Weekend and seasonal haulers who tow a handful of times a year
- Anyone who would rather not babysit air pressure or buy a compressor
- Boat, fish house, snowmobile, and ice house haulers
- Contractors running skid steer, dump, and equipment trailers
- Drivers who want a real step up from a solid ball mount without overspending
- Fleet operators who want zero ongoing hitch maintenance
Cushion vs Air Ride, How to Pick
Both ride better than a solid mount. What separates them is travel, tunability, and price.
Impact Cushion 14K (this product)
Rubber cushions in place of an airbag. Runs about 30 to 40% cheaper and needs zero maintenance. You get less suspension travel than air ride, and still a clear upgrade over solid steel. Best for occasional or light-duty towing, or anyone who values simplicity over dialing in settings.
Original Shocker Air Hitch (air-ride sibling)
Same chassis with an adjustable airbag instead of the cushions. More travel, a smoother ride at any load weight, and you can set the pressure to match whatever is on the ball. It costs more, needs a compressor, and the airbag is a wear item (rare to replace, and you can do it in the field). Best for daily towers and heavy use.
Set It and Forget It
If you tow a few times a year, the last thing you want is a hitch that nags for attention. The Impact Cushion 14K bolts in, pulls trailers smoothly, and never needs servicing. There is no air pressure to check before a trip, no airbag to inspect, and no compressor riding along in your toolbox. If you came to Shocker for the reputation but do not want the air-ride routine, this is the line built exactly for you.
Same Ecosystem as the Original Shocker
Because the Impact Cushion runs the Original Shocker chassis, every ball mount attachment in the Shocker catalog drops right on. Combo balls, pintle hooks, clevises, drawbars, raised mounts, and drop mounts all fit. Buy the base frame once and swap attachments as your trailers change. It is finished in a safety red textured powder coat that stands out for visibility and shrugs off chips, and it ships direct from our Canadian warehouse, so there is no border wait.
