Saves Fuel
By using a gooseneck Surge Hitch, customer report fuel savings of 1 to 2 miles per gallon.
Improves Safety
By giving you improved control of your tow vehicle and 5th wheel camper trailer. The Gooseneck surge air hitch system allows for better control of your pickup and the trailer it is towing.
Stop destroying your trailer and cargo.
Every bump, pothole, and expansion joint sends a violent jolt through your trailer frame, damaging cargo and wearing out your truck. Shocker Air Ride Hitches absorb that punishment at the coupling, before it reaches your trailer.
Every frost heave and hard stop, a 5th wheel drives a forward-and-back jerk straight through the hitch, and that shock beats up your truck driveline, your camper frame, and everything riding inside. This is the fix for a rig you already started converting. It's the upper assembly from the Quick Air Full Conversion Kit, sold on its own: the Shocker Gooseneck Surge air hitch, the round 4-inch inner stem, and a Demco EZ Latch coupler for a 2-5/16-inch ball, ready to drop into a Shocker 5th-wheel-to-gooseneck pin box you already own. It carries the full 24,000 lbs GTW with 6,000 lbs of tongue weight, so a heavy front load rides easy. Built as a replacement and component-level upgrade only.

Who Buys the Hitch Only
Existing Shocker Pin Box Owners
You already ran the Shocker gooseneck pin box conversion on your 5th wheel and just need to swap the air hitch and coupler, not the whole setup.
Phased Upgraders
You started with the Gooseneck Pin Box Only to keep costs down, and now you're ready to add the air ride hitch and coupler on top.
Repair and Service Centers
RV dealers and repair shops keeping the air hitch assembly on the shelf for warranty swaps or coupler upgrades on customer rigs already in the field.
Bolt-Over Adapter Users
Owners running a third-party bolt-over kingpin-to-gooseneck adapter (such as Ranch Hand) who want the Shocker air hitch on top. Rated to 20,000 lbs in that setup.
What This Drops Into
This hitch is built to fit the Shocker gooseneck pin box family and nothing else. It will NOT fit standard gooseneck trailers, because the inner stem is deliberately shorter than a normal gooseneck stem:
- Shocker gooseneck pin box for Lippert 1621, 0719, Rhino Box (SH-RVGC-4405)
- Shocker gooseneck pin box for Lippert 1716, 1116, 0115, FabEx 500-560 (SH-RVGC-4410)
- Shocker gooseneck pin box for Lippert Turning Point (SH-RVGC-4415)
- Third-party bolt-over kingpin-to-gooseneck adapters (rated 20,000 lbs in this config)
- NOT compatible with standard gooseneck trailers (the stem is too short)
- NOT compatible with non-Shocker pin box conversions (incorrect inner diameter)
Hitch Only vs. Full Kit vs. Pin Box Only
Pick the path that matches what's already on your camper:
Hitch Only (this product)
Air hitch, Demco EZ Latch coupler, and stem. For owners who already have a Shocker gooseneck pin box bolted to the camper. The cheapest way to replace the top end.
Full Conversion Kit
Comes with the pin box plus this hitch and coupler assembly. The one to buy if you don't already own a Shocker pin box.
Pin Box Only
Just the pin box housing, no air hitch and no coupler. The cheapest way in. Start here, then add the Hitch Only later to finish the job in stages.
Important: Shorter Stem, Not a Standard Gooseneck
The Shocker Quick Air gooseneck hitch uses a SHORTER inner tube stem than a normal gooseneck. That's on purpose. It's cut to seat inside the Shocker 5th-wheel-to-gooseneck pin box housing and nowhere else. It will NOT fit a normal gooseneck trailer, because the stem is too short to reach the trailer's coupler housing. If you're after air ride for a standard gooseneck trailer (livestock, flatbed, equipment), look at the Surge Air Gooseneck Standard 30K line instead.
Why Air Ride at the 5th-Wheel Connection
A 5th wheel sends a forward-and-back chucking motion straight through the kingpin and gooseneck connection. It's the worst kind of jerk for your cabinets, slide-outs, dishes, and your spine. The Shocker Gooseneck Surge air hitch is the only air hitch built to work in that forward-and-back direction alone, which is exactly where a camper hits you. Owners report 1-2 mpg in fuel savings, far less wear on the truck driveline and camper frame, and a noticeably calmer ride up in the cab. It carries the full 24,000 lbs GTW and 6,000 lbs of tongue weight in the engineered Shocker pin box, and steps down to a 20,000 lbs GTW maximum in third-party bolt-over kingpin-to-gooseneck adapters.
