Stop destroying your trailer and cargo.
Every bump, pothole, and expansion joint sends a violent jolt through your trailer frame, damaging cargo and wearing out your truck. Shocker Air Ride Hitches absorb that punishment at the coupling, before it reaches your trailer.
The Surge Air Gooseneck Shift Lock 30K pairs the patented Shocker forward-back air-ride chassis with the proprietary Shift Lock coupler — the only gooseneck coupler that captures the 2-5/16-inch ball from both sides for visible at-a-glance lock confirmation. Rated 30,000 lbs GTW with a 7,000 lb tongue weight (1,000 lb higher than the Demco variant). The multi-fit-square drops into your factory outer tube in minutes.

Why Shift Lock vs. Standard Couplers
The Shift Lock is Shocker's proprietary coupler — distinct from the Demco EZ Latch used on the Standard 30K line.
Dual-Side Ball Capture
Unlike single-side latches, the Shift Lock grips the 2-5/16-inch ball from both sides simultaneously. This is the only gooseneck coupler on the market with that geometry.
Visual Lock Indicator
The latch position tells you at a glance whether the coupler is locked on the ball — no crouching, no flashlight, no second-guessing before pulling out.
Higher Tongue Weight
Rated for 7,000 lbs of tongue weight versus 6,000 lbs for the Demco variant on the same chassis. A useful margin for tongue-heavy goosenecks.
Easy Hookup Handle
Simple lever handle to lock and release. No fighting with stuck mechanisms after a long-distance haul.
Forward-Back Surge Air Ride
Forward-Back Motion Airbag
The patented air spring sits behind the inner stem and absorbs the dominant forward-back jerk between truck bed and trailer — the shock vector unique to gooseneck towing.
Rocker Arm Pivot
Simple rocker arm geometry — no parallel linkages, no shocks, no torsion arms. Less to maintain, less to fail, longer service life under heavy use.
Adjustable Pressure
Add air for heavy loads, release for empty trailers. The same hitch tunes from a fully loaded equipment haul to a deadhead return run.
Drops Into Factory Outer Tube
The multi-fit-square slides into your existing outer tube where the factory inner stem sits today — no welding, no cutting, no truck-bed modification.
Choose This If You're a Shift Lock User
Operators who already run Shift Lock couplers across their fleet, or who specifically want the dual-side capture and visual lock indicator.
- Operators with existing Shift Lock ecosystem on other trailers
- Heavy-tongue-weight gooseneck users wanting the 7K tongue rating
- Hotshot truckers who want at-a-glance lock confirmation
- Hauliers who pre-trip every connection and value a visible lock state
- Anyone preferring dual-side ball capture over single-side latches
- Long-bed pickup owners towing 25K–30K goosenecks
Shift Lock vs. Demco — Same Chassis
Both lines share the identical air-ride chassis, stem options, and 30,000 lbs rating. The coupler is the difference.
Shift Lock (this line)
Dual-side ball capture, visual lock indicator, 7,000 lb tongue weight rating. Proprietary Shocker coupler. Patent #'s 11,370,257 B1 and D898,628.
Demco EZ Latch (Standard 30K)
Auto-latching single-side capture, latch-handle release, 6,000 lb tongue weight rating. Industry-standard Demco design. See surge-air-gooseneck-standard-30k.
Short-Bed Pickup?
This line ships with the standard 3" forward extension — fine for long-bed trucks. Shift Lock variants of the 9" offset are available in the surge-air-gooseneck-offset-30k line. If your truck is short-bed and the trailer nose comes close to your cab on tight turns, choose the offset line and select the Shift Lock coupler option there.
