Gooseneck Pin Box Fits

the common factory 5th-wheel pin boxes (Lippert 1621/0719 and Rhino-style frames).

Heavy-Duty Steel

Made with Heavy Duty steel that with a textured matte black impact resistant powder coat finish for years and years of on the road performance.

5th Wheel to Gooseneck Box Only

Replacement Goose Box  for 5th Wheel Campers (used to convert to gooseneck hitch & coupler).

Easy Install Bolt on Install

Completely replaces your factory 5th wheel box with a gooseneck pin box on your 5th wheel camper trailer. Then a Shocker gooseneck stem & coupler with a shorter 4" round stem installs into it…

Stop destroying your trailer and cargo.

Every bump, pothole, and expansion joint sends a violent jolt through your trailer frame, damaging cargo and wearing out your truck. Shocker Air Ride Hitches absorb that punishment at the coupling, before it reaches your trailer.

The Shocker Gooseneck Pin Box Only is the cheapest entry point into the 5th-wheel-to-gooseneck conversion. It is a heavy-duty, black powder-coated steel replacement pin box that bolts onto your existing 5th-wheel camper using your factory bolts. No air hitch and no coupler — just the pin box housing with a 4-inch round inner sleeve, ready to accept a Shocker gooseneck air hitch when you're ready to upgrade.

Key Highlights

  • Cheapest entry into the Shocker 5th-to-gooseneck conversion system
  • Heavy-duty steel with textured matte black impact-resistant powder coat
  • 4-inch round inner sleeve accepts the Shocker Quick Air gooseneck hitch (sold separately)

  • Made in Jamestown, North Dakota

What This Is — And What It Isn't

Just the Pin Box Housing

Heavy-duty steel pin box with a 4-inch round inner tube sleeve. Bolts to your camper's pin box mounting plate. That's it — no moving parts, no air ride, no coupler.

Designed to Accept Shocker Air Hitch

The 4-inch inner sleeve is sized to receive the Shocker Quick Air gooseneck hitch and stem (sold separately). No other gooseneck stem is engineered to fit.

Replaces Your Factory 5th-Wheel Pin Box

Your factory kingpin pin box comes off, this gooseneck pin box bolts on in its place. Your camper now tows gooseneck instead of 5th-wheel — once you add a coupler.

Cheapest Path to Conversion

MSRP ~$1,058-$1,142 vs. the Full Kit at ~$3,040+. Buy this now if cash flow is tight or if you want to spread the upgrade over months.

Three Variants — Match Your Factory Pin Box

Check the label on your camper's existing 5th-wheel pin box and order the matching variant. All three share the same 4-inch round inner sleeve and the same compatibility with the Shocker air hitch:

  • SH-RVGC-4405 — fits Lippert 1621, 0719, Rhino Box
  • SH-RVGC-4410 — fits Lippert 1716, 1116, 0115, FabEx 500/503/520/530/560
  • SH-RVGC-4415 — fits Lippert Turning Point
  • All three accept the Shocker Quick Air gooseneck hitch (sold separately)
  • Reuses your factory pin box bolts — no new mounting hardware
  • Bolts on in 30-60 minutes with two adults and a floor jack

Pin Box Only vs. Full Kit vs. Hitch Only

Three SKU paths exist for the 5th-to-gooseneck conversion. Choose the one that matches your wallet and timeline:

Option 1

Pin Box Only (this product)

Just the pin box. Cheapest. The right choice if you want to lock in the conversion now and add the air hitch and coupler in a later purchase. Or if you plan to source a non-Shocker stem and coupler separately.

Option 2

Full Conversion Kit

Pin box + air hitch + Demco EZ-Latch coupler in one box. Most complete and the cheapest per-component path when you need every part. Includes built-in air ride.

Option 3

Hitch Only

Just the air hitch + coupler. Buy this AFTER you already own this pin box, to complete the conversion. Phase 2 of a phased upgrade.

Why Buy the Pin Box First?

Some owners spread the conversion over time: buy the pin box this season for ~$1,100, then add the Shocker air hitch and Demco coupler next season for another ~$1,900. Total cost is similar to the Full Kit, but the bill is split. Other owners buy the pin box only because they want to use a non-Shocker gooseneck stem (lower GTW) — though we strongly recommend the Shocker air hitch for the engineered fit and full rating.

Important: This Alone Cannot Tow

The pin box by itself does not tow anything. You need a gooseneck stem and coupler installed inside the 4-inch inner sleeve before you can hook up to a truck-bed gooseneck ball. Pair this with the Shocker Quick Air Gooseneck Hitch Only line (SH-4RND-STR-DEM-CA) for the engineered match. You also need a safety chain kit (SH-PBCK sold separately) — required by law for gooseneck towing. Existing pin box bolts are reused for installation.

What's Included

  • Replacement gooseneck pin box housing (matched to your OEM pin box family)
  • 4-inch round inner tube sleeve adapter (built into the pin box)
  • Set bolt and lock nut
  • Black textured powder-coat finish
  • Installation instructions

Not Included

  • Gooseneck air hitch and coupler (Shocker Quick Air Gooseneck Hitch Only sold separately)
  • Safety chain kit (SH-PBCK sold separately — required for gooseneck towing)
  • Pin box mounting bolts (your existing factory pin box bolts are reused)
  • Gooseneck ball in truck bed (must already be installed)
  • Any third-party gooseneck stem or coupler

Installation

Moderate — Some Experience~60 minutes

Support the front of the camper with a floor jack. Remove the factory 5th-wheel pin box (typically 6-8 bolts). Lift the new Shocker gooseneck pin box into place. Reuse the factory bolts to fasten. Confirm torque to OEM specification. Camper is now ready to accept a Shocker Quick Air gooseneck hitch (sold separately).

Tools needed:

Socket wrench set (3/4" and larger) · Floor jack to support the front of the camper · Two adults recommended (pin box weighs 60-79 lbs)
