Gooseneck Pin Box Fits

the common factory 5th-wheel pin boxes (Lippert 1621/0719 and Rhino-style frames).

Heavy-Duty Steel

Made with Heavy Duty steel that with a textured matte black impact resistant powder coat finish for years and years of on the road performance.

5th Wheel to Gooseneck Box Only

Replacement Goose Box  for 5th Wheel Campers (used to convert to gooseneck hitch & coupler).

Easy Install Bolt on Install

Completely replaces your factory 5th wheel box with a gooseneck pin box on your 5th wheel camper trailer. Then a Shocker gooseneck stem & coupler with a shorter 4" round stem installs into it…

Stop destroying your trailer and cargo.

Every bump, pothole, and expansion joint sends a violent jolt through your trailer frame, damaging cargo and wearing out your truck. Shocker Air Ride Hitches absorb that punishment at the coupling, before it reaches your trailer.

Switching a 5th-wheel over to gooseneck usually lands as one big invoice, and that up-front number is what stops a lot of owners from ever doing it. This is the piece that lets you start now for the least money. It's a heavy-duty black powder-coated steel pin box that bolts onto your existing camper using your factory bolts. There's no air hitch and no coupler in the box, just the housing with a 4-inch round inner sleeve, sitting ready to take a Shocker gooseneck air hitch whenever the budget says go.

Key Highlights

  • The lowest-cost way to start your 5th-wheel-to-gooseneck switch
  • Textured matte black powder coat that shrugs off chips and road rash
  • 4-inch round inner sleeve drops right onto the Shocker Quick Air gooseneck hitch (sold separately)
  • Pulls up to 24,000 lbs GTW with 6,000 lbs on the tongue once the air hitch goes on
  • Bolts on with your own factory 5th-wheel pin box bolts, so no welding and no drilling
  • Three variants cover Lippert 1621/0719/Rhino, Lippert 1716/1116/0115/FabEx 500-560, and Lippert Turning Point

What You're Getting, and What You're Not

Just the Pin Box Housing

Heavy-duty steel with a 4-inch round inner tube sleeve, bolting straight to your camper's pin box mounting plate. Nothing else lives in here. No moving parts, no air ride, no coupler.

Ready for the Shocker Air Hitch

That 4-inch inner sleeve is sized to take the Shocker Quick Air gooseneck hitch and stem (sold separately). No other gooseneck stem is engineered to fit it.

Swaps Out Your Factory 5th-Wheel Pin Box

Your factory kingpin pin box comes off and this gooseneck pin box bolts on where it sat. Add a coupler and your camper tows gooseneck instead of 5th-wheel.

The Cheapest Way In

MSRP runs about $1,058 to $1,142 against roughly $3,040+ for the Full Kit. Grab this now if cash flow is tight or you'd rather spread the upgrade across a few months.

Three Variants, One That Matches Your Factory Pin Box

Look at the label on your camper's current 5th-wheel pin box and pick the variant that matches it. All three carry the same 4-inch round inner sleeve and all three take the Shocker air hitch:

  • SH-RVGC-4405 fits Lippert 1621, 0719, and the Rhino Box
  • SH-RVGC-4410 fits Lippert 1716, 1116, 0115, and FabEx 500/503/520/530/560
  • SH-RVGC-4415 fits the Lippert Turning Point
  • All three take the Shocker Quick Air gooseneck hitch (sold separately)
  • Reuses your factory pin box bolts, so there's no new mounting hardware to buy
  • Bolts on in 30 to 60 minutes with two adults and a floor jack

Pin Box Only vs. Full Kit vs. Hitch Only

There are three ways to buy into the 5th-to-gooseneck conversion. Pick the one that fits your wallet and your timeline:

Option 1

Pin Box Only (this product)

Just the pin box, and the cheapest way to start. Right for you if you want to lock in the conversion now and add the air hitch and coupler in a later purchase, or if you plan to source a non-Shocker stem and coupler on your own.

Option 2

Full Conversion Kit

Pin box, air hitch, and Demco EZ-Latch coupler together in one box. The most complete option and the best value per piece when you need everything, with air ride built in.

Option 3

Hitch Only

Just the air hitch and coupler. Buy this once you already own this pin box to finish the conversion. It's step two of a phased upgrade.

Why Start With the Pin Box?

A lot of owners break the conversion into two seasons. Buy the pin box this season for around $1,100, then add the Shocker air hitch and Demco coupler next season for another $1,900 or so. You land close to what the Full Kit costs, just with the bill split across two paydays. A few owners grab the pin box on its own because they plan to run a non-Shocker gooseneck stem (which carries a lower GTW), though we still steer you toward the Shocker air hitch for the exact fit and the full rating.

Read This First: The Pin Box Can't Tow on Its Own

On its own the pin box won't pull a thing. Before you can drop onto a truck-bed gooseneck ball, you need a gooseneck stem and coupler seated inside the 4-inch inner sleeve. Match it with the Shocker Quick Air Gooseneck Hitch Only line (SH-4RND-STR-DEM-CA) for the engineered fit. You'll also want a safety chain kit (SH-PBCK sold separately), which the law requires for gooseneck towing. Your existing pin box bolts get reused for the install.
