Stop destroying your trailer and cargo.
Every bump, pothole, and expansion joint sends a violent jolt through your trailer frame, damaging cargo and wearing out your truck. Shocker Air Ride Hitches absorb that punishment at the coupling, before it reaches your trailer.
Every hard stop and frost heave in a gooseneck sends a forward-back jerk straight from your truck bed into the trailer, the cargo, and you. The Surge Air Gooseneck Shift Lock 30K takes that hit for you. It pairs the patented Shocker forward-back air-ride chassis with the proprietary Shift Lock coupler, the only gooseneck coupler that grabs the 2-5/16-inch ball from both sides so you can confirm the lock at a glance instead of crouching in the bed with a flashlight. Rated 30,000 lbs GTW with a 7,000 lb tongue weight (1,000 lb more than the Demco variant), which is real breathing room when the load rides heavy up front. The multi-fit-round drops into your factory outer tube in minutes.

What Sets the Shift Lock Apart
The Shift Lock is Shocker's proprietary coupler, distinct from the Demco EZ Latch used on the Standard 30K line.
Grabs the Ball From Both Sides
A single-side latch only holds on from one direction. The Shift Lock clamps the 2-5/16-inch ball from both sides at once, and it's the only gooseneck coupler on the market that does it.
See the Lock, Don't Guess It
The latch position tells you the coupler is locked on the ball at a glance, so there's no crouching in the bed, no flashlight, and no second-guessing before you pull out.
More Room on the Tongue
Rated for 7,000 lbs of tongue weight against 6,000 lbs for the Demco variant on the same chassis. That extra 1,000 lb is real margin when a gooseneck loads heavy up front.
One Lever to Lock and Go
A simple lever handle locks and releases the coupler, so you're not wrestling a stuck mechanism after a long haul.
The Air Ride That Takes the Jerk
Air Spring Behind the Stem
The patented air spring sits behind the inner stem and soaks up the forward-back jerk between truck bed and trailer, the shock that gooseneck towing throws at you the hardest.
Simple Rocker Arm, Less to Break
It works off a simple rocker arm with no parallel linkages, no shocks, and no torsion arms. Fewer parts means less to maintain and a longer service life under heavy use.
Tune It to the Load
Add air for a heavy load, bleed it off for an empty trailer. The same hitch dials in from a fully loaded equipment haul to a deadhead run home.
Drops Into Your Factory Tube
The multi-fit-round slides into the outer tube where your factory inner stem sits today, with no welding, no cutting, and no truck-bed modification.
Best Fit If You Run Shift Lock
Built for haulers already running Shift Lock couplers across their trailers, or anyone who wants the dual-side capture and the visual lock indicator.
- You already run Shift Lock couplers on your other trailers
- You load heavy on the tongue and want the 7,000 lb rating
- You're a hotshot who wants lock confirmation at a glance
- You pre-trip every connection and want to see the lock state
- You'd rather have dual-side ball capture than a single-side latch
- You run a long-bed pickup pulling 25K to 30K goosenecks
Shift Lock vs. Demco on the Same Chassis
Both lines run the same air-ride chassis, stem options, and 30,000 lbs rating. The coupler is the only thing that changes.
Shift Lock (this line)
Dual-side ball capture, a visual lock indicator, and a 7,000 lb tongue weight rating. Proprietary Shocker coupler, patents 11,370,257 B1 and D898,628.
Demco EZ Latch (Standard 30K)
Auto-latching single-side capture, latch-handle release, and a 6,000 lb tongue weight rating. The industry-standard Demco design. See surge-air-gooseneck-standard-30k.
Short-Bed Pickup?
This line ships with the standard 3" forward extension, which is fine for long-bed trucks. Shift Lock versions of the 9" offset live in the surge-air-gooseneck-offset-30k line. If you run a short bed and the trailer nose crowds your cab on tight turns, go with the offset line and pick the Shift Lock coupler option there.
