The Surge Air Gooseneck 9" Offset 30K solves the short-bed pickup cab-clearance problem. It's the same 30,000 lbs surge-air gooseneck chassis as our Standard 30K, but the Shift Lock coupler is positioned 9 inches forward of the factory location — so tight turns no longer bring the trailer nose into your cab. The multi-fit-round replaces your factory inner stem in minutes.

Why a 9-Inch Offset Matters
On a short-bed pickup (typically 5.5 or 6.5 ft beds), a standard gooseneck coupler sits close enough to the truck cab that tight turns — backing into a campsite, navigating a stockyard, jackknifing in a tight driveway — bring the trailer nose dangerously close to the back glass and cab corners. The 9" offset moves the coupler 9 inches farther forward of where a standard gooseneck would sit, restoring the turning clearance that long-bed trucks have by default. Now you get gooseneck stability and air-ride smoothness without trading the maneuverability of your short-bed pickup.
Air Ride Without the Cab-Clearance Compromise
9" Forward Extension
The forged extension arm puts the Shift Lock coupler 9 inches ahead of where a standard gooseneck would sit, clearing the cab during tight turns and jackknife maneuvers.
Forward-Back Airbag
The same patented surge-air mechanism as the Standard 30K — an air spring absorbs the dominant forward-back jerk between truck bed and trailer stem.

Coupler Choice: Demco EZ Latch or Shift Lock
Both couplers carry the full 30,000 lbs rating. The Shift Lock is what ships with this SKU.
Demco EZ Latch
Auto-latches when you drop on the 2-5/16-inch ball. Single-side capture; lift the latch handle to release. The most common choice.
Shift Lock
Patented dual-side ball capture — the only gooseneck coupler that grips the ball from both sides. Visual lock indicator at a glance. Slightly higher 7K tongue weight rating.
Direct Stem Replacement
This is not an adapter that bolts onto your existing stem — it's a complete stem-and-coupler replacement. The multi-fit-round slides into your trailer's outer tube where your factory inner stem currently sits, repins through your existing height holes, and the air ride plus 9" extension live above the stem. Installation typically takes under an hour with no welding, drilling, or cutting.

Installation
Unhook the trailer and raise it on the jack. Pull the safety pins from your factory inner stem and slide it out of the trailer's outer tube. Slide the Shocker multi-fit-round stem with 9" offset arm into the outer tube, align the height holes, and re-pin. Inflate the airbag to the starting pressure for your load. Drop onto your truck-bed ball — the Shift Lock latches automatically. Verify cab clearance during a low-speed turn before towing.
