I've ridden in the trailer myself — the difference in shock is huge. Our horses come off so much more relaxed, and there's less wear on the truck and trailer too.

Adjustable Drop Hitch

Featuring eight adjustment holes, this hitch allows for a drop range of 4-1/2" to 8-1/2". Drop hitch comes with a 2-5/16" hitch ball.

Textured Matte Black Finish

The base frame is finished in an impact-resistant Max Black™ textured matte black premium powder coat, ensuring durability and style.

14,000 lbs GTW Capacity

This hitch boasts a rated towing capacity of 14,000 lbs and a tongue weight rating of 1,400 lbs, making it ideal for heavy loads.

Smoother, Safer Towing

Experience the benefits of air ride towing technology with a heavy-duty built-in air spring designed to cushion your ride and absorb road shocks.

Stop destroying your trailer and cargo.

Every bump, pothole, and expansion joint sends a violent jolt through your trailer frame, damaging cargo and wearing out your truck. Shocker Air Ride Hitches absorb that punishment at the coupling, before it reaches your trailer.

Every frost heave, pothole, and hard stop sends a jolt straight up through a solid steel hitch into your truck, your trailer, and whatever you're hauling. That constant jarring is what chews up couplers, works trailer frames loose, and wears you out on a long day behind the wheel. The Max Black 14K puts an air spring between the truck and the trailer so those hits get soaked up before they ever reach you. It hauls the heaviest trailer you'll put behind a three-quarter-ton (14,000 lbs GTW, up to 1,400 lbs on the ball), drops into any 2-1/2-inch receiver on an F-250 or RAM 2500-class truck (class V), and does it all in a textured matte-black powder coat that hides scratches, shrugs off fade, and looks right at home on a blacked-out rig. Same air-ride guts as the Original 14K, finished in stealth black instead of red. In stock in Canada and ships direct, no border wait.

Key Highlights

  • Hauls up to 14,000 lbs of trailer with 1,400 lbs on the ball, on the proven 8-hole chassis

Installation

How Shocker Air Ride Takes the Hit

Built-In Air Spring

A heavy-duty air bag sits under the receiver tube and soaks up the jerking, tugging, and hard hits before they ever reach your truck or trailer. Nothing bolts solid, so nothing punches the shock straight through the connection.

Adjustable for Any Load

Air up for a heavy load, bleed it down for a light one. Set the pressure once and the hitch sits at the right ride height every time you hook up, whether it's a loaded stock trailer or an empty flatbed.

Rocker-Arm Pivot

Shocker's signature down-and-back motion runs on a single pivot, with no slides, rollers, parallel linkages, or stacked airbags to fail. Fewer moving parts means less to wear out and a longer service life.

Dual Bump Cushions

Two backup rubber cushions catch the extreme jolts the air bag can't fully swallow, giving you a built-in safety margin for the moments the road really hammers you.

Why Go With the Matte Black

Same proven 14K chassis as the Original. The only difference is how it looks and how it wears.

  • Textured matte black hides the scratches and chips that would show on glossy red
  • Matches blacked-out OEM packages like King Ranch, Limited, AT4, Rebel, and Platinum
  • Stays looking newer longer, with no fade line where the receiver meets the bumper
  • A finish for owners who treat the truck as a statement piece
  • All 20+ Shocker ball-mount attachments come in matching black
  • Exact same air-ride performance, so it's a pure looks and durability upgrade

Sway Control: Two Ways to Run It

The Max Black comes with or without welded sway tabs, depending on which ball-mount attachment you run:

Option 1

Standard Ball Mount (No Sway Tabs)

Best for boats, livestock trailers, equipment haulers, and anything that doesn't need friction sway bars. The pivoting air-ride design already takes the edge off sway on its own.

Option 2

Ball Mount With Welded Sway Tabs

Adds welded tabs to bolt on a friction sway-bar kit (sold separately). This is the one for tall travel trailers and campers that get shoved around by crosswinds and passing semis.

Flip It From Drop to Rise

This kit ships set up for 4-1/2" to 8-1/2" of drop with a 2-5/16" ball. Most Shocker ball mounts flip over, so you can turn that drop into rise, and the 8 adjustment holes let you fine-tune coupler height in between. Towing a low travel trailer behind a lifted truck or a tall camper behind a stock pickup, you can get the trailer riding level either way.

A Finish Built to Last

It's the same heavy-wall steel chassis as the Original 14K, just wearing a tougher coat. The textured matte-black powder coat is built to fight UV fade, hide the fine scratches you get every time the shank slides into the receiver, and hold up better than glossy paint on salted winter roads and gravel backroads. Backed by Shocker Hitch's 60-day satisfaction guarantee.
