It drops into the 2-1/2-inch receiver on an F-250 or RAM 2500-class three-quarter-ton truck (class V receivers) and pulls the heaviest trailer you will put behind that truck, up to 14,000 lbs. The stealth black finish hides scratches, coordinates with a blacked-out truck, and gives the hitch a more rugged, upmarket presence than the classic red.

Sway Control: Pick Your Ball Mount
The Max Black ships with or without sway-control tabs depending on the ball-mount attachment you choose:
Standard Ball Mount (No Sway Tabs)
Right for boats, livestock trailers, equipment haulers, and any load that does not need friction sway bars. The pivoting air-ride design already cuts down sway on its own.
Ball Mount With Welded Sway Tabs
Adds welded mounting tabs for a friction sway-bar kit (sold separately). Go this route for travel trailers and tall campers that get pushed around by crosswinds and passing semis.
Flip It From Drop to Rise
This Shocker Max Black Air Hitch & Drop Ball Mount w/ 2" Ball comes set up with a 4-1/2" to 8-1/2" Drop ball mount. Most Shocker ball mounts flip over, so you can turn that drop into a rise, and the 8 adjustment holes let you fine-tune the coupler height until the trailer sits level. Towing a low travel trailer behind a lifted truck, or a tall camper behind a stock pickup, the geometry adapts either way.
