14,000 lbs GTW Air Hitch
This heavy-duty air hitch supports a towing capacity of 14,000 lbs and a tongue weight of 1,400 lbs. (Note: Don't go over the Base frame GTW)
Stop destroying your trailer and cargo.
Every bump, pothole, and expansion joint sends a violent jolt through your trailer frame, damaging cargo and wearing out your truck. Shocker Air Ride Hitches absorb that punishment at the coupling, before it reaches your trailer.
Every hard stop, frost heave, and railroad crossing sends a jolt straight through a solid hitch into your truck, your trailer, and whatever you loaded, and that constant chucking wears out your gear and beats you up on a long haul. The Shocker Max Black Air Channel Style Pintle & Ball Hitch puts an air spring between you and the road so those hits get soaked up before you ever feel them. It hauls up to 14,000 lbs and drops into the 2-1/2-inch receiver on an F-250 or RAM 2500-class three-quarter-ton truck (class V receiver). It runs the same air-ride guts as the Original Shocker Air Hitch, wrapped in a textured matte-black powder coat that hides scratches, shrugs off gravel and salt, and looks right on a blacked-out truck instead of the classic red.
Key Highlights
- Pulls up to 14,000 lbs with 1,400 lbs on the tongue, enough for the biggest trailer you'd put behind a three-quarter-ton, all on the proven 8-hole chassis
- Textured matte-black powder coat hides road rash and gravel chips, so it still looks sharp after seasons of towing
- Slides into the 2-1/2-inch receiver on an F-250 or RAM 2500-class three-quarter-ton truck (class V receiver)
- Air it up for a loaded trailer or bleed it down for a light one, and you get a level, settled ride every hookup
- Rocker-arm pivot means fewer moving parts to wear out and a hitch that keeps working
- 3″ Drop to 7″ Drop ball-mount geometry gets your trailer sitting level behind the truck
- Looks like it belongs on a blacked-out truck with dark wheels and modern OEM packages

How Shocker Air Ride Works
The Air Spring Soaks Up the Hits
A heavy-duty air bag sits under the receiver tube and takes the jerk, tug, and slam out of towing before any of it reaches your truck or trailer. Nothing hard-couples the load to your rig, so the shocks stop at the hitch.
Tune It to Your Trailer
Add air when the trailer is heavy, let some out when it is light. Set the pressure so the hitch sits at the right ride height every time you hook up, loaded or empty.
One Simple Pivot
Shocker's down-and-back motion rides on a single pivot, with no slides, rollers, parallel linkages, or stacked airbags to bind up or wear out. Fewer moving parts means it keeps working for the long haul.
Backup Cushions for the Big Hits
When you catch a brutal pothole or a hard stop the air bag cannot fully swallow, two rubber bump cushions step in to take the extreme jolt. It is a built-in safety margin for the worst of it.
Why Buyers Choose the Black Finish
Built on the same proven 14K chassis as the Original, so what changes is the finish and the look, not how it works.
- Textured matte black hides the scratches and chips that show up bright on glossy red
- Matches blacked-out OEM packages like King Ranch, Limited, AT4, Rebel, and Platinum
- No fade-line where the receiver meets the bumper, so it looks newer for longer
- The right look if you treat your truck as a statement piece
- The same 20+ Shocker ball-mount attachments come in matching black
- Tows exactly like the red version, so you upgrade the finish and durability without giving anything up
Two Ways to Handle Trailer Sway
This hitch comes with or without welded sway tabs, depending on the ball-mount attachment you choose:
Standard Ball Mount, No Sway Tabs
Good for boats, livestock trailers, equipment haulers, and anything that does not need friction sway bars. The pivoting air-ride design already cuts down on sway tendency on its own.
Ball Mount With Welded Sway Tabs
Comes with welded tabs to bolt on a friction sway-bar kit (sold separately). This is the one for travel trailers and tall-profile campers that catch crosswind and start to wander at highway speed.
Get Your Trailer Sitting Level
A trailer that noses up or drags down at the back rides rough and wears the tires uneven. This Shocker Max Black Air Channel Style Pintle & Ball Hitch ships in a 3″ Drop to 7″ Drop ball-mount setup, and most Shocker ball mounts flip over to turn that drop into a rise. Use the 8 adjustment holes to fine-tune coupler height on top of that. Low travel trailer behind a lifted truck or a tall camper behind a stock pickup, the geometry adapts to get it level.
A Finish Built to Last
It is built on the same heavy-wall steel chassis as the Original 14K, so the strength is identical. The textured matte-black powder coat is made to fight UV fade, hide the micro-scratches you get every time the shank slides into the receiver, and hold up better than glossy finishes on salt-belt roads and gravel. Backed by Shocker Hitch's 60-day satisfaction guarantee.
