14,000 lbs GTW Air Hitch
This heavy-duty air hitch supports a towing capacity of 14,000 lbs and a tongue weight of 1,400 lbs. (Note: Don't go over the Base frame GTW)
Stop destroying your trailer and cargo.
Every bump, pothole, and expansion joint sends a violent jolt through your trailer frame, damaging cargo and wearing out your truck. Shocker Air Ride Hitches absorb that punishment at the coupling, before it reaches your trailer.
Every hard stop, frost heave, and stretch of washboard road sends a jolt straight up the drawbar. Over time that constant chucking wears on your truck, your trailer, and everything strapped down in the bed, and it turns an easy haul into a teeth-rattling, white-knuckle ride. The Max Black 14K stops that shock at the hitch. It runs the same Original Shocker Air Hitch chassis, with the same 14,000 lbs GTW rating and the same air-ride that soaks up the hit before it reaches you, wrapped in a textured matte-black premium powder coat. It drops into a 2-inch receiver on F-150-class half-ton trucks (and class III/IV receivers), and the stealth black hides scratches, matches a blacked-out truck, and gives this Shocker Max Black Air Channel Style Pintle & Ball Hitch a more rugged, upmarket look than the classic red.

How Shocker Air Ride Works
Air Spring That Takes the Hit
A heavy-duty air bag sits under the receiver tube and catches the jerking, tugging, and impact before it ever reaches your truck or trailer. There is no rigid steel-on-steel connection to pass the shock through, so the hits stop at the hitch.
Set It for What You Are Towing
Pump in more air for a heavy load, bleed some off for a light one. You dial the pressure so the hitch sits at the right ride height every time you hook up, whether that is a loaded stock trailer or an empty utility hauler.
One Simple Pivot
Shocker's down-and-back motion runs on a single rocker-arm pivot. There are no slides, rollers, parallel linkages, or stacked airbags to wear out or seize. Fewer moving parts means less to fail and a longer service life.
Backup Cushions for the Big Hits
Two rubber bump cushions stand behind the air bag to catch the extreme jolts it cannot fully swallow, like a hard pothole at speed. It is a built-in backstop so the system still protects you under the worst hits.
Why Buyers Choose the Black Finish
Same proven 14K chassis as the Original. The only difference is the finish and how it presents.
- Textured matte black hides scratches and rock chips far better than glossy red
- Matches blacked-out factory packages like King Ranch, Limited, AT4, Rebel, and Platinum
- No fade-line where the receiver slides into the bumper, so it looks newer for longer
- A premium look for anyone who treats their truck as a statement piece
- Backs up to 20+ Shocker ball-mount attachments, available in matching black
- Same air-ride performance as the red. This is a pure finish and durability upgrade.
Sway Control: Two Configurations
The Max Black comes with or without sway-control tabs, depending on the ball-mount attachment you choose:
Standard Ball Mount (No Sway Tabs)
Best for boats, livestock trailers, equipment haulers, and anything that does not need friction sway bars. The pivoting air-ride design already cuts down on sway tendency by itself.
Ball Mount With Welded Sway Tabs
Comes with welded tabs to bolt on friction sway-bar kits (sold separately). Go this route for travel trailers and tall campers that catch crosswind and start to sway.
Flip It From Drop to Rise
This Shocker Max Black Air Channel Style Pintle & Ball Hitch ships set up for 3″ Drop to 7″ Drop. Most Shocker ball mounts flip right over, so you can turn that drop into a rise, and the 8 adjustment holes let you fine-tune coupler height until the trailer sits level. Towing a low travel trailer behind a lifted truck or a tall camper behind a stock pickup, the geometry adapts to match.
A Finish Built to Last
Same heavy-wall steel chassis as the Original 14K, finished in a textured matte-black powder coat built to resist UV fade, hide the micro-scratches you get from sliding the receiver in and out, and hold up better than glossy finishes on salt-belt and gravel roads. Backed by Shocker Hitch's 60-day satisfaction guarantee.
