Stop destroying your trailer and cargo.
Every bump, pothole, and expansion joint sends a violent jolt through your trailer frame, damaging cargo and wearing out your truck. Shocker Air Ride Hitches absorb that punishment at the coupling, before it reaches your trailer.
Even a light trailer behind a car, minivan, or SUV can beat you up. Every frost heave and hard stop chucks through a bare ball mount, rattling your cargo and knocking the ride around. The Mini Shocker Cushion 3.5K is the smallest, lightest hitch in the Shocker family, a rubber-cushion tongue mount (not air ride) that soaks up that jolt so your small trailer tows smooth. It hauls up to 3,500 lbs GTW, and it flips the other way to give you a 2,000 lb setting at a different drop and rise, so it works like two hitches in one. It runs on smaller 1-7/8 inch or 2 inch balls instead of the big 2-5/16 inch balls the rest of our bumper-pull line uses, which is exactly what tiny trailers need.
Key Highlights
- Hauls up to 3,500 lbs GTW, or flip it for a 2,000 lb setting. Two ratings, one hitch
- A heavy-duty rubber cushion soaks up road shock, with no air pump to run
- Built for cars, vans, minivans, SUVs, and CUVs, not just pickups
- Runs the small-trailer balls (1-7/8 inch or 2 inch), not the big 2-5/16 inch pickup size
- Gives you 2 inches of drop or 2 inches of rise to tow small trailers level
- Compact enough to tuck into the receiver under a car bumper
- Black powder-coat finish that shrugs off weather
- The lightest and lowest-cost hitch in the Shocker bumper-pull family

A Different Class of Hitch
One Rubber Cushion Does the Work
There is no air bag here. A heavy-duty rubber cushion takes the hit from the road instead, so there is no pump to run and no gauge or valve to fuss with. You bolt it on and tow. For the light loads it is rated to carry, that cushion is all you need.
Flip It for Two Ratings
Mount it one way and you are rated to haul 3,500 lbs GTW. Flip it around and you get a 2,000 lb rating at a different drop and rise position. It is two hitches in one, so you can match it to whatever you are pulling that day.
The Right Ball for Small Trailers
Our 8K and bigger hitches run 2-5/16 inch balls, which are overkill for a jet ski or a pop-up. The Mini Shocker takes 1-7/8 inch or 2 inch balls instead, the sizes tiny trailers, jet skis, and pop-up campers actually come with.
Made for What You Actually Drive
The rest of our bumper-pull family is built around pickups. This one is sized for the cars, minivans, and CUVs that get left out. If your tow vehicle is not a pickup, this is your Shocker.
The Small Trailers This Hitch Was Made For
Pulling any of these behind something other than a pickup? The Mini Shocker is built for exactly this job:
- Jet ski and personal watercraft trailers, often 1,500 to 2,500 lbs
- Single snowmobile trailers
- Lawn mower and small equipment trailers
- Pop-up tent campers under 3,500 lbs
- Small utility trailers and hitch-mount bike racks
- Small fishing boat trailers under 3,500 lbs
- Kayak and canoe trailers
Mini Shocker, Sport 8K, or Original 14K?
The Mini Shocker plays in a different league than the rest, so line them up before you buy:
Mini Shocker Cushion 3.5K
Hauls up to 3,500 lbs GTW on a rubber cushion, with a 1-7/8" or 2" ball. Made for cars, minivans, CUVs, and SUVs. The lightest and cheapest way into a Shocker, though it rides on a cushion instead of air.
Shocker Sport 8K
Hauls up to 8,000 lbs GTW on true air ride with a 2-5/16" ball. Built for half-ton pickups, vans, and full-size SUVs. Step up here if your trailer runs between 3,500 and 8,000 lbs, or if you tow with a pickup.
Original Shocker 14K
Hauls up to 14,000 lbs GTW on air ride, the go-to pick for any half-ton or three-quarter-ton truck. Way more hitch than a tiny trailer will ever need.
How the Flip Trick Works
The mount is symmetrical front to back. Set it one way and the rubber cushion is loaded to haul 3,500 lbs GTW at one drop and rise. Turn it 180 degrees and the cushion loads for a 2,000 lb capacity at the opposite drop and rise. You just pick the side that matches your trailer height and load. There are no extra parts to buy.
Compact, Black, and Nearly Hands-Off
The mount is black-powder-coated steel with a single heavy-duty rubber cushion at the pivot. No air bag, no air valve, and nothing to service beyond the quick visual look-over any hitch should get. It is covered by Shocker Hitch's frame warranty and a 60-day satisfaction guarantee. In stock and shipping direct from Canada, so there is no border wait.
