Stop destroying your trailer and cargo.
Every bump, pothole, and expansion joint sends a violent jolt through your trailer frame, damaging cargo and wearing out your truck. Shocker Air Ride Hitches absorb that punishment at the coupling, before it reaches your trailer.
Tow a small trailer behind a car, minivan, or SUV and you feel every seam in the road come straight back through the ball. The chucking on stops, the jolt over frost heaves, the way a light trailer wants to shove your back bumper around. The Mini Shocker Cushion 3.5K is the smallest, lightest hitch we make, and it soaks up that road shock with a heavy-duty rubber cushion instead of an air bag. It hauls up to 3,500 lbs, and flip it over and it sets up for 2,000 lbs with a different drop and rise. It runs a 1-7/8 inch ball, the size that fits the little trailers a non-pickup tow vehicle is built for.
Key Highlights
- Pulls up to 3,500 lbs, or flip it over for a 2,000 lb setup, so it's really two hitches in one
- A rubber cushion takes the sting out of bumps and hard stops, with no air pump to run
- Sized for the cars, vans, minivans, SUVs, and CUVs that pickup hitches don't fit
- Takes a 1-7/8 inch ball (or a 2 inch), the sizes small trailers use, not the 2-5/16 inch pickup ball
- 2 inch drop or 2 inch rise so you can sit your small trailer level down the road
- Compact enough to fit the receivers tucked under car bumpers
- Black powder-coat finish that shrugs off the weather
- The lightest and lowest-priced hitch in the Shocker bumper-pull family

Built Different From Our Pickup Hitches
A Rubber Cushion, No Air Bag
Every hitch in this line fights road shock. This one does it with a tough rubber cushion at the pivot instead of an air bag, so there is no pump to run, no gauge to read, and no air valve to check. You bolt it on and you tow. For the light loads it's rated to carry, that cushion is all the ride you need.
Two Capacities, One Mount
Set it one way and it's rated for 3,500 lbs. Turn it 180 degrees and it drops to 2,000 lbs at a different drop and rise. That's really two hitches for the price of one, and you pick the side that matches the trailer sitting in your driveway.
Sized for Small-Trailer Balls
Our 8K-and-up hitches run a big 2-5/16 inch ball. The Mini Shocker takes a 1-7/8 inch or 2 inch ball instead, the sizes you'll find under jet skis, pop-up campers, and other tiny trailers. Match the ball to your trailer's coupler and you're ready to hook up.
Made for What You Actually Drive
The rest of our bumper-pull family is sized for pickups. This one is for the cars, minivans, and CUVs that never fit those hitches. If your tow rig isn't a truck, this is your Shocker.
Ideal For These Trailers
Tow any of these behind a car, minivan, or SUV and the Mini Shocker is your match:
- Jet ski and personal watercraft trailers, often 1,500 to 2,500 lbs
- Single snowmobile trailers
- Lawn-mower and small equipment trailers
- Pop-up tent campers under 3,500 lbs
- Very small utility trailers and bike racks
- Small fishing boat trailers under 3,500 lbs
- Kayak and canoe trailers
Mini Shocker or Sport 8K? Which One Fits
The Mini Shocker is a different class of product on purpose. Here's how to tell which one you actually need:
Mini Shocker Cushion 3.5K
3,500 lbs GTW, rubber cushion, 1-7/8 inch or 2 inch ball. Made for cars, minivans, CUVs, and SUVs. The lightest and cheapest way into a Shocker, though it rides on a cushion rather than air.
Shocker Sport 8K
8,000 lbs GTW, air ride, 2-5/16 inch ball. Made for half-ton pickups, vans, and full-size SUVs. Step up to this if your trailer runs between 3,500 and 8,000 lbs or your tow vehicle is a pickup.
Original Shocker 14K
14,000 lbs GTW, air ride. The go-to mid-tier pick for any half-ton or three-quarter-ton truck. Way more hitch than a tiny trailer needs.
How the Flippable Cushion Works
The mount is symmetrical front to back. In one orientation the rubber cushion is set for a 3,500 lb GTW at one drop and rise. Flip it 180 degrees and the cushion loads up for a 2,000 lb capacity at the opposite drop and rise. Choose the side that lines your trailer up level and matches its weight. There are no extra parts to buy either way.
Compact, Black, Maintenance-Free
The Mini Shocker mount is black-powder-coated steel with one heavy-duty rubber cushion at the pivot. No air bag, no air valve, and nothing to service beyond the once-over you'd give any hitch. It's covered by Shocker Hitch's frame warranty and a 60-day satisfaction guarantee. We keep it in stock and ship it direct from Canada, so there's no border wait.
