Stop destroying your trailer and cargo.
Every bump, pothole, and expansion joint sends a violent jolt through your trailer frame, damaging cargo and wearing out your truck. Shocker Air Ride Hitches absorb that punishment at the coupling, before it reaches your trailer.
Tow a jet ski or a pop-up camper behind a car or minivan and you feel every seam in the road. The load chucks back through the ball, hard stops turn jumpy, and a long drive leaves you and the trailer worn out. The Mini Shocker Cushion 3.5K is the smallest, lightest hitch in the Shocker family, and it takes the sting out of that with a heavy-duty rubber cushion (not air ride) built into the mount to soak up the jarring. It fits cars, minivans, and SUVs pulling very small trailers, carries up to 3,500 lbs GTW, and flips the other way for a 2,000 lb setup when you need it. It runs a ball, a smaller ecosystem than the rest of our bumper-pull line, which is exactly right for the light trailers it's made for.
Key Highlights
- Carries up to 3,500 lbs GTW, then flips over for a 2,000 lb setup, so one hitch covers two trailers
- A rubber cushion soaks up road shock with no pump, gauge, or air valve to fuss with
- Sized for the cars, vans, minivans, SUVs, and CUVs a pickup hitch won't fit
- Runs a 1-7/8 inch or 2 inch ball, the everyday sizes for small trailers (not the 2-5/16 inch pickup size)
- 2 inch drop to 2 inch rise keeps a small trailer riding level behind you
- Compact mount slides into any 2 inch receiver tucked under a car bumper
- Black powder-coat finish holds up to weather and road grime
- The lightest and lowest-cost hitch in the Shocker bumper-pull family

A Different Class of Hitch
A Cushion Instead of an Air Bag
Where our bigger hitches use an air bag, the Mini Shocker runs a heavy-duty rubber cushion that absorbs road shock on its own. Nothing to pump, no pressure gauge, no air valve. You bolt it in and tow. For the light loads it's rated to carry, that's all it needs.
Flip It for Two Capacities
Mount it one way and it's rated for 3,500 lbs GTW. Flip it 180 degrees and it drops to a 2,000 lb rating with a different drop and rise. That's two hitches in one, so you can match it to a heavier or a lighter trailer without buying a second mount.
The Small-Trailer Ball Sizes
Our 8K-and-up hitches all run a 2-5/16 inch ball. This one takes a 1-7/8 inch or 2 inch ball instead, the sizes that come standard on tiny trailers, jet skis, and pop-up campers. Match the ball to your coupler and you're set.
Made for Non-Pickups
The rest of our bumper-pull hitches are built for trucks. This one is sized for the cars, minivans, and CUVs they don't fit. If your tow vehicle isn't a pickup, this is the Shocker for you.
Ideal For These Trailers
Pulling any of these behind a car, minivan, or SUV? The Mini Shocker is your match:
- Jet ski and personal watercraft trailers, often 1,500 to 2,500 lbs
- Single-sled snowmobile trailers
- Lawn-mower and small equipment trailers
- Pop-up tent campers under 3,500 lbs
- Small utility trailers and bike racks
- Small fishing boat trailers under 3,500 lbs
- Kayak and canoe trailers
Mini Shocker or Sport 8K: Which One?
The Mini Shocker is a different class of product on purpose. Here's how to tell which one fits:
Mini Shocker Cushion 3.5K
3,500 lbs GTW, rubber cushion, 1-7/8 inch or 2 inch ball. Fits cars, minivans, CUVs, and SUVs. It's the lightest and lowest-cost Shocker, and it uses a cushion rather than air ride.
Shocker Sport 8K
8,000 lbs GTW, air ride, 2-5/16 inch ball. Built for half-ton pickups, vans, and full-size SUVs. Step up to this if your trailer runs between 3,500 and 8,000 lbs or your tow vehicle is a pickup.
Original Shocker 14K
14,000 lbs GTW, air ride. The go-to middle choice for any half-ton or three-quarter-ton truck. Way more hitch than a tiny trailer will ever need.
How Flipping It Works
The mount is symmetrical front to back. In one orientation the rubber cushion is set up for a 3,500 lb GTW at one drop and rise. Turn it 180 degrees and the cushion loads differently for a 2,000 lb capacity with the drop and rise reversed. Pick whichever orientation matches your trailer's height and weight. There are no extra parts to buy, it's already in the box.
Compact, Black, and Nearly Hands-Off
The mount is black powder-coated steel with a single heavy-duty rubber cushion at the pivot. No air bag, no air valve, and no upkeep beyond the once-over you'd give any hitch. It's covered by Shocker Hitch's frame warranty and a 60-day satisfaction guarantee. In stock and shipping from Canada, so there's no border wait.
