Stop destroying your trailer and cargo.
Every bump, pothole, and expansion joint sends a violent jolt through your trailer frame, damaging cargo and wearing out your truck. Shocker Air Ride Hitches absorb that punishment at the coupling, before it reaches your trailer.
Even a light trailer behind a car, minivan, or SUV can chuck and jerk over frost heaves and rough pavement, jarring the tow vehicle and rattling whatever you loaded. The Mini Shocker Cushion 3.5K is the smallest, lightest hitch we make, and it takes the sting out of those small tows. A heavy-duty rubber cushion (not air ride) soaks up the road shock so you get a smoother pull with no pump and no pressure gauge to fuss with. It hauls up to 3,500 lbs GTW, and it flips the other way to run a 2,000 lb load at a different height, giving you two setups in one. It runs a 2-inch ball, the size small trailers use, which is a smaller ecosystem than the rest of our bumper-pull line.
Key Highlights
- Hauls up to 3,500 lbs GTW, or flip it to run a 2,000 lb load at a different height
- Rubber cushion soaks up road shock, so there is no air pump to run
- Sized for the cars, vans, minivans, SUVs, and CUVs that pickup hitches do not fit
- Takes a 1-7/8 inch or 2 inch ball, the small-trailer standard (not the 2-5/16 inch pickup size)
- 2" drop to 2" rise so you can sit a small trailer level
- Compact enough to fit a 2-inch receiver tucked under a car bumper
- Black powder-coat finish that shrugs off the weather

A Different Class of Hitch
A Rubber Cushion Does the Work
Small tows still hand you hard little jolts that wear on your vehicle and your cargo. Instead of an air bag, the Mini Shocker uses a heavy-duty rubber cushion to soak up that road shock. There is no pump, no pressure gauge, and no air valve, so you just install it and tow. It is the right fit for the loads it is rated to carry.
Two Hitches in One
Mounted one way, the hitch is rated for 3,500 lbs GTW. Flip it the other way and it runs a 2,000 lb load at a different drop and rise. Pick the side that matches the job and you have two hitches for the price of one.
Sized for Small-Trailer Balls
Our 8K and heavier hitches run 2-5/16 inch balls. The Mini Shocker takes a 1-7/8 inch or 2 inch ball instead, the standard sizes for tiny trailers, jet skis, and pop-up campers.
Made for the Vehicle You Actually Drive
The rest of our bumper-pull family is sized for pickups. This one is built for the cars, minivans, and CUVs those hitches were never meant to fit. If your tow vehicle is not a pickup, this is your Shocker.
Ideal For These Trailers
If you pull any of these behind a car, minivan, or SUV, the Mini Shocker is your match:
- Jet ski and personal watercraft trailers (often 1,500 to 2,500 lbs)
- Single snowmobile trailers
- Lawn-mower and small equipment trailers
- Pop-up tent campers under 3,500 lbs
- Very small utility trailers and bike racks
- Small fishing boat trailers under 3,500 lbs
- Kayak and canoe trailers
Mini Shocker vs. Sport 8K: Which One?
The Mini Shocker sits in its own class on purpose. Line them up before you buy:
Mini Shocker Cushion 3.5K
3,500 lbs GTW on a rubber cushion, with a 1-7/8" or 2" ball. Built for cars, minivans, CUVs, and SUVs. It is the lightest and cheapest option, though it rides on a cushion instead of air.
Shocker Sport 8K
8,000 lbs GTW on air ride, using the 2-5/16" ball ecosystem. Built for half-ton pickups, vans, and full-size SUVs. Step up to this if your trailer runs between 3,500 and 8,000 lbs, or if you tow with a pickup.
Original Shocker 14K
14,000 lbs GTW on air ride. The go-to mid-tier pick for any half-ton or three-quarter-ton truck. Far more hitch than a tiny trailer needs.
How the Flippable Cushion Works
The mount is symmetrical front to back, so it works two ways. In one orientation the rubber cushion carries a 3,500 lb GTW at one drop and rise. Turn it 180 degrees and the cushion carries a 2,000 lb load at the opposite drop and rise. Match the side to your trailer height and load, and there are no extra parts to buy.
Compact, Black, and Basically Maintenance-Free
The mount is black-powder-coated steel with a single heavy-duty rubber cushion at the pivot. There is no air bag and no air valve, so there is no maintenance schedule beyond the visual once-over any hitch deserves. It is backed by Shocker Hitch's 1-year warranty and 60-day satisfaction guarantee, in stock and shipping direct from Canada with no border wait.
