Stop destroying your trailer and cargo.
Every bump, pothole, and expansion joint sends a violent jolt through your trailer frame, damaging cargo and wearing out your truck. Shocker Air Ride Hitches absorb that punishment at the coupling, before it reaches your trailer.
Tow a little jet ski or a pop-up camper behind a car or minivan and you feel every seam and pothole come straight up through the coupler. The rig jerks, the trailer chucks behind you, and a long drive leaves you and your gear beat up. The Mini Shocker Cushion 3.5K is the smallest, lightest hitch we make, built to take that harshness out of towing with a light vehicle. A heavy-duty rubber cushion (not air ride) sits at the pivot and softens frost heaves and hard stops. It hauls up to 3,500 lbs, and flipped the other way it sets up for 2,000 lbs at a different height. It runs a 1-7/8 inch ball, the size you find on small trailers rather than the bigger 2-5/16 inch pickup ecosystem.

A Different Class of Hitch
A Rubber Cushion Does the Work
There is no air bag in this one. A heavy-duty rubber cushion sits at the pivot and takes the road shock for you. No pump to run, no pressure gauge to read, no air valve to check. You bolt it on and tow. For the light loads it is rated to pull, that is all you need.
Two Hitches in One
Set it up one way and you are rated to haul 3,500 lbs. Flip it over and it is set for 2,000 lbs at a different drop and rise. One purchase covers two trailer heights and two capacities.
Small-Trailer Ball Sizes
Our 8K and up hitches run big 2-5/16 inch balls. The Mini Shocker takes 1-7/8 inch or 2 inch balls instead, the sizes you actually find on jet skis, pop-up campers, and other tiny trailers.
Made for Light Tow Vehicles
The rest of our bumper-pull family is sized for trucks. This one is built for the cars, minivans, and CUVs those hitches are too big for. If you are not towing with a pickup, this is your Shocker.
Trailers This Hitch Was Built For
Towing any of these behind a car, van, or SUV? The Mini Shocker is your match.
- Jet ski and personal watercraft trailers (often 1,500 to 2,500 lbs)
- Single snowmobile trailers
- Lawn-mower and small equipment trailers
- Pop-up tent campers under 3,500 lbs
- Very small utility trailers and bike racks
- Small fishing boat trailers under 3,500 lbs
- Kayak and canoe trailers
Mini Shocker or Sport 8K: Which One Fits
The Mini Shocker sits in its own class. Here is how to tell if you have already outgrown it before you buy:
Mini Shocker Cushion 3.5K
Hauls up to 3,500 lbs on a rubber cushion. Runs a 1-7/8" or 2" ball. Made for cars, minivans, CUVs, and SUVs. The lightest, cheapest way into a Shocker, though it is a cushion rather than air ride.
Shocker Sport 8K
Hauls up to 8,000 lbs on air ride with a 2-5/16" ball. Built for half-ton pickups, vans, and full-size SUVs. Step up to this if your trailer runs between 3,500 and 8,000 lbs, or if you tow with a pickup.
Original Shocker 14K
Hauls up to 14,000 lbs on air ride. The go-to pick for any half-ton or three-quarter-ton truck. Far more hitch than a tiny trailer needs.
How the Flip Works
The mount is symmetrical front to back, so it works two ways. In one orientation the rubber cushion is set for 3,500 lbs at one drop and rise. Turn it 180 degrees and the cushion loads for 2,000 lbs at the opposite drop and rise. Just pick the side that matches your trailer height and load. You do not buy a single extra part to switch.
Compact, Black, and Maintenance-Free
The mount is black-powder-coated steel with a single heavy-duty rubber cushion at the pivot. No air bag, no air valve, and nothing to service beyond the quick visual once-over any hitch deserves. It is covered by Shocker Hitch's frame warranty and 60-day satisfaction guarantee, and it is in stock and shipping from Canada, so there is no border wait.
