I've ridden in the trailer myself — the difference in shock is huge. Our horses come off so much more relaxed, and there's less wear on the truck and trailer too.

Matte Black Finish

Impact resistant Max Black™ textured matte black Premium powder-coat finish on hitch.

Adjustable for Weight

Fine-tune for your towing weight. Just add air for heavier loads. Adjust the air pressure for the best ride and load control. Fine tune your towing by easily adding or reducing air as needed.

Built-in HD Air Ride System

Absorbs road shock and creates a smooth ride & reduces trailer sway. Dual rubber bump cushions offer additional HD performance.

12 Adjustment Holes

Up to 12-1/2" of drop & 2-1/2" of rise depending on mount selected. Crush drawbar offers 0" to 8-1/2" of drop.

Stop destroying your trailer and cargo.

Every bump, pothole, and expansion joint sends a violent jolt through your trailer frame, damaging cargo and wearing out your truck. Shocker Air Ride Hitches absorb that punishment at the coupling, before it reaches your trailer.

Your truck sits high, your trailer tongue sits low, and every trip the trailer rides nose-up and fights you through the corners. The Shocker HD Max Black Super Drop is built to close that gap. The 12-hole Super Drop frame gives you up to 12-1/2 inches of drop, so you can pull the nose down and tow level even on a lifted rig over a low-deck trailer. Under all of it sits the same 20K air ride suspension that carries the HD Max Black line, so you get the clearance without the pounding of a solid steel drop bar. It hauls up to 20,000 lbs GTW, drops into 2-1/2-inch receivers, and offers 1/2" to 8-1/2" Drop for dialing in level tow on lifted trucks and low-deck trailers.

Key Highlights

  • Up to 12-1/2 inches of drop, the deepest in the HD Max Black family, pulls a low trailer nose down behind a tall truck
  • Hauls up to 20,000 lbs GTW on full air ride, so the load rides soft instead of pounding truck and trailer
  • 12-hole Super Drop frame lets you fine-tune the height until the trailer sits dead level
  • Textured matte black powder coat hides road grime and shrugs off chips, rust, and UV fade
  • 2-1/2-inch shank drops into F-250 / RAM 2500-class three-quarter-ton trucks (class V receivers)
  • Reversible frame flips over for added rise when your trailer tongue sits high instead
  • Same airbag and same chassis strength as the standard HD Max Black 20K, just with more drop range
  • Built for lifted trucks, low-tongue gooseneck-converted trailers, and low-deck haulers

Why the Super Drop Frame

Four Extra Holes, A Lot More Drop

You get four more adjustment holes than the standard 8-hole HD Max Black frame. Those extra holes are what let you reach 10 to 12 inches of drop, enough to bring a trailer down to level behind a lifted truck.

Air Ride at Every Drop Setting

Most deep-drop hitches are solid steel, so every frost heave and hard stop comes straight up through the truck. The Super Drop keeps the airbag working across the whole drop range, so you get the clearance and keep the soft ride.

Flip It Over for Rise

Turn the frame over and you have up to 2 inches of rise. That covers a cab-over camper or a trailer tongue that sits high on a stock-height truck.

Works With Every HD Max Black Attachment

It takes every HD Max Black ball mount attachment, including combo balls, pintles, clevises, and drawbars. Buy the frame once and swap the attachment as your trailers change.

Built For These Trucks and Trailers

If your factory hitch leaves the trailer sitting nose-up or nose-down, you need more drop range than it can give. This frame is how you get it.

  • Lifted half-ton, 3/4-ton, and 1-ton pickups (3 to 6 inch lifts)
  • Trailers with low front tongues that ride nose-up behind a stock-height truck
  • Low-deck equipment haulers, race trailers, and gooseneck-converted bumper-pull trailers
  • Dual-rear-wheel trucks that sit tall from the factory
  • Any rig where a standard 6 to 7 inch drop is not enough to level the trailer
  • F-250 / RAM 2500-class three-quarter-ton trucks (class V receivers) running aftermarket suspension

Super Drop vs Standard HD Max Black 20K

Both share the same 20K air ride chassis. Choose based on how much drop your setup actually needs.

Option 1

Standard HD Max Black 20K (8-hole frame)

Gives you up to roughly 7 inches of drop. It is the right call for a stock-height truck pulling a typical bumper-pull trailer, and it costs less. This is the standard choice in the HD Max Black line.

Option 2

HD Max Black Super Drop (12-hole frame)

Gives you up to 12-1/2 inches of drop. Reach for it when the standard frame cannot get the trailer level, whether that is a lifted truck, a low-tongue trailer, or an odd height mismatch. It runs about $50 to $80 over the standard frame.

Why Level Tow Matters More Than Most Buyers Think

Tow nose-high and weight comes off the trailer's front axle, which is what starts a trailer swaying behind you. Tow nose-low and you overload that front axle and the trailer dives every time you hit the brakes. Go either way and you pay for it in tire wear, ride quality, and longer stopping distance. For most lifted-truck owners, getting the trailer level is the single biggest tow safety upgrade they can make, and the Super Drop frame is the tool that gets you there without giving up air ride.

Built and Finished for the Long Haul

Under the finish is a heavy-duty steel chassis. Over it goes a textured matte black powder coat that hides road grime, takes rock chips without showing them, and holds up to UV better than a gloss finish. Inside is the same multi-ply commercial air bag Shocker runs across the HD line. It is backed by Shocker's 60-day satisfaction guarantee, and it is in stock and ships direct from Canada with no border wait.
