I've ridden in the trailer myself — the difference in shock is huge. Our horses come off so much more relaxed, and there's less wear on the truck and trailer too.

Adjustable for Weight

Fine-tune for your towing weight. Just add air for heavier loads. Adjust the air pressure for the best ride and load control. Fine tune your towing by easily adding or reducing air as needed.

Built-in HD Air Ride System

Absorbs road shock and creates a smooth ride & reduces trailer sway. Dual rubber bump cushions offer additional HD performance.

12 Adjustment Holes

4-1/2" to 12-1/2" of drop. With the massive drop of this hitch, you should have at least 22″ of height from the ground to the bottom of your trucks receiver tube.

2 Hole Receiver Shank

Available for 2", 2 1/2" & 3" receiver hitch tubes with Two hitch pin holes for length adjustability.

Stop destroying your trailer and cargo.

Every bump, pothole, and expansion joint sends a violent jolt through your trailer frame, damaging cargo and wearing out your truck. Shocker Air Ride Hitches absorb that punishment at the coupling, before it reaches your trailer.

When your truck sits tall and your trailer tongue sits low, the trailer tows nose-up, wanders and sways at speed, and wears out tires on both ends. Most extreme-drop hitches close that height gap with a solid steel bar, so every frost heave and hard stop slams straight through the truck and your cargo. The Shocker HD Max Black Super Drop Air Hitch & Drop Ball Mount w/ 2" Ball & Sway Bar Tabs fixes the height without the beating. The 12-hole frame drops anywhere from 4-1/2 inches to 12-1/2 inches, enough to pull a lifted rig level with a low-deck trailer, and the same 20K air ride airbag stays active across the whole range. Rated at 20,000 lbs GTW and built for 3-inch receivers, it hauls heavy and still rides smooth.

Why the Super Drop Frame

Drop Where the 8-Hole Frame Runs Out

You get four more adjustment holes than the standard 8-hole HD Max Black frame. Those extra holes are what let you dial in 10 to 12 inches of drop, the range a lifted truck actually needs to sit a trailer level.

Air Ride at Every Drop Setting

Most deep-drop hitches are a solid chunk of steel, which means a hard, jarring ride that beats up the truck. The Super Drop keeps the airbag working across the whole drop range, so you get the clearance without giving up the smooth ride.

Flip It Over for Rise

Turn the frame over and you pick up as much as 2 inches of rise. That comes in handy for a cab-over camper or a taller trailer tongue behind a stock-height truck.

One Frame, Every Attachment

It takes every HD Max Black ball mount attachment there is, including combo balls, pintles, clevises, and drawbars. Buy the frame once and swap attachments as the trailers in your yard change.

Built For These Trucks and Trailers

If your factory hitch leaves the trailer hanging nose-up or nose-down, you need more drop range than it can give. This frame is how you get level.

  • Lifted half-ton, 3/4-ton, and 1-ton pickups running 3 to 6 inch lifts
  • Trailers with low front tongues that sit too low behind stock-height trucks
  • Low-deck equipment haulers, race trailers, and gooseneck-converted bumper-pulls
  • Dually trucks that ride tall straight from the factory
  • Any rig where the standard 6 to 7 inch drop still leaves the trailer off-level
  • F-350, RAM 3500, and dually one-tons (class V/VI receivers) running aftermarket suspension

Super Drop vs Standard HD Max Black 20K

Both run the same 20K air ride chassis. The only question is how much drop your truck and trailer actually call for.

Option 1

Standard HD Max Black 20K (8-hole frame)

Gives you up to about 7 inches of drop. That is plenty for a stock-height truck pulling a typical bumper-pull trailer, it costs less, and it is the standard pick in the HD Max Black line.

Option 2

HD Max Black Super Drop (12-hole frame)

Gives you up to 12-1/2 inches of drop. Reach for this one when the standard frame just can't get the trailer level, whether from a lifted truck, a low-tongue trailer, or an odd height mismatch. It runs about $50 to $80 more than the standard frame.

Why Getting the Trailer Level Matters So Much

Here is what goes wrong when a trailer isn't level. Tow it nose-high and weight comes off the trailer's front axle, which is what gets the trailer swaying behind you. Tow it nose-low and you overload that front axle, and the trailer dives every time you hit the brakes. Either way you burn through tires faster, ride rougher, and need more room to stop. For most lifted-truck owners, getting the trailer level is the single biggest tow safety upgrade they can make, and the Super Drop frame is what makes it possible without giving up air ride.

Built to Take a Beating and Keep Its Looks

Under the finish is a heavy-duty steel chassis. Over it is a textured matte black powder coat that hides road grime, laughs off rock chips, and holds up to sun far better than a glossy coat. Inside is the same multi-ply commercial air bag Shocker runs across the whole HD line. It is covered by Shocker's 60-day satisfaction guarantee, and it ships in stock straight from Canada with no border wait.
