I've ridden in the trailer myself — the difference in shock is huge. Our horses come off so much more relaxed, and there's less wear on the truck and trailer too.

Matte Black Finish

Impact resistant Max Black™ textured matte black Premium powder-coat finish on hitch.

Built-in HD Air Ride System

Absorbs road shock and creates a smooth ride & reduces trailer sway. Dual rubber bump cushions offer additional HD performance.

Improves Safety

By giving you improved control of your tow vehicle and trailer. The air bag receiver hitch system allows for better control of your pickup and the trailer it is towing.

12 Adjustment Holes & 4-1/2" to 12-1/2" of Drop

With the massive drop of this hitch, you should have at least 22" of height from the ground to the bottom of your trucks receiver tube. Choose a 2" or 2 5/16" hitch ball.

Stop destroying your trailer and cargo.

Every bump, pothole, and expansion joint sends a violent jolt through your trailer frame, damaging cargo and wearing out your truck. Shocker Air Ride Hitches absorb that punishment at the coupling, before it reaches your trailer.

You lift the truck, and suddenly the trailer rides nose-high behind it. That tail-down stance is what makes a trailer sway on the highway, dive under hard braking, and eat through its front tires. The Shocker HD Max Black Super Drop closes that gap. Its 12-hole Super Drop frame drops the ball up to 12-1/2 inches so a lifted rig can pull a low-tongue trailer dead level, and it does it on the same 20K air ride airbag the whole HD Max Black line runs on. You get the clearance without the teeth-rattling clunk of a solid steel drop bar. Rated at 20,000 lbs GTW and 2,000 lbs of tongue weight, it slides into any 3-inch receiver and adjusts from 4-1/2 to 12-1/2 inches of drop to level out lifted trucks and low-deck trailers.

Why the Super Drop Frame

Four Extra Holes, A Lot More Drop

The 12-hole frame gives you four more adjustment holes than the standard 8-hole HD Max Black. Those extra holes are what let you dial in 10 to 12 inches of drop, enough to reach the tongue on a tall lifted truck.

Air Ride at Every Drop Setting

Most deep-drop hitches are a solid chunk of steel, so every bump comes straight up through the truck. This one keeps the airbag working across the full drop range, so you get the clearance and still keep the soft ride.

Flips Over for Rise

Turn the frame upside down and you get up to 2 inches of rise instead of drop. Handy when a cab-over camper or a taller trailer tongue sits above your stock-height receiver.

Works With Your HD Max Black Attachments

Every HD Max Black attachment bolts right on: combo balls, pintles, clevises, drawbars. Buy the frame once and swap the attachment when your trailers change instead of buying a whole new hitch.

Built For These Trucks and Trailers

If your factory hitch leaves the trailer sitting nose-up or nose-down, you need more drop range than it can give. This frame is that fix.

  • Lifted half-ton, 3/4-ton, and 1-ton pickups running 3 to 6 inch lifts
  • Low-tongue trailers that ride nose-high behind a taller truck
  • Low-deck equipment haulers, race trailers, and gooseneck-converted bumper-pull trailers
  • Dually trucks that sit tall straight from the factory
  • Any setup where a standard 6 to 7 inch drop still cannot get the trailer level
  • F-350, RAM 3500, and dually one-ton trucks (class V/VI receivers) on aftermarket suspension

Super Drop vs Standard HD Max Black 20K

Both run the same 20K air ride chassis. The only real question is how much drop your truck and trailer actually need.

Option 1

Standard HD Max Black 20K (8-hole frame)

Gives you up to roughly 7 inches of drop. That is the right call for a stock-height truck pulling a typical bumper-pull trailer, and it costs less.

Option 2

HD Max Black Super Drop (12-hole frame)

Gives you up to 12-1/2 inches of drop. Go this way when the standard frame just cannot get the trailer level, like on lifted trucks, low-tongue trailers, or odd height mismatches. It runs about $50 to $80 more than the standard frame.

Why Towing Level Beats Almost Everything Else

Pull a trailer nose-high and weight comes off its front axle, which is exactly what sets off highway sway. Pull it nose-low and you overload that front axle, so the trailer dives every time you hit the brakes. Either way you burn through tires faster, feel every bump harder, and take longer to stop. For most lifted-truck owners, getting the trailer sitting level is the single biggest safety gain they can make, and the Super Drop frame is what gets you there without giving up air ride.

Built and Finished for the Long Haul

Heavy-duty steel chassis under a textured matte black powder coat that hides road grime, fights off rock chips, and holds up to the sun better than a glossy finish. Inside is the same multi-ply commercial air bag that runs across the whole Shocker HD line. Every one is backed by Shocker's 60-day satisfaction guarantee, and it is in stock and ships straight from Canada with no border wait.
