I've ridden in the trailer myself — the difference in shock is huge. Our horses come off so much more relaxed, and there's less wear on the truck and trailer too.

Adjustable for Weight

Fine-tune for your towing weight. Just add air for heavier loads. Adjust the air pressure for the best ride and load control. Fine tune your towing by easily adding or reducing air as needed.

Built-in HD Air Ride System

Absorbs road shock and creates a smooth ride & reduces trailer sway. Dual rubber bump cushions offer additional HD performance.

12 Adjustment Holes

4-1/2" to 12-1/2" of drop. With the massive drop of this hitch, you should have at least 22″ of height from the ground to the bottom of your trucks receiver tube.

2 Hole Receiver Shank

Available for 2", 2 1/2" & 3" receiver hitch tubes with Two hitch pin holes for length adjustability.

Stop destroying your trailer and cargo.

Every bump, pothole, and expansion joint sends a violent jolt through your trailer frame, damaging cargo and wearing out your truck. Shocker Air Ride Hitches absorb that punishment at the coupling, before it reaches your trailer.

Lift your truck and your trailer tongue suddenly sits way below your receiver, so the trailer rides nose-high, chucks over every bump, and starts to sway on the highway. The Shocker HD Max Black Super Drop closes that gap. Its 12-hole Super Drop frame drops the ball as much as 12-1/2 inches so you can finally pull your trailer dead level, and it does it on the same 20K air ride suspension the HD Max Black line is known for, so you get the clearance without the harsh, jarring ride a solid drop hitch gives you. It is rated at 20,000 lbs GTW, built for 2-1/2-inch receivers, and delivers 4-1/2" to 12-1/2" Drop to dial in level tow on lifted rigs and low-deck trailers. It comes with a 2-inch ball and sway bar tabs ready to go.

Key Highlights

  • Drops the ball as much as 12-1/2 inches, the deepest reach in the HD Max Black family, so even a tall lifted truck can pull level
  • Handles up to 20,000 lbs GTW on full air ride, so the heaviest trailer you own still rides smooth
  • The 12-hole Super Drop frame lets you fine-tune ball height hole by hole until the trailer sits dead level
  • Textured matte black powder coat hides road grime and shrugs off rock chips, rust, and UV fade
  • The 2-1/2-inch shank drops straight into F-250 and RAM 2500-class three-quarter-ton trucks (class V receivers)
  • Flip the frame over and it gives you extra rise when a taller tongue calls for it
  • Runs the same airbag and the same chassis strength as the standard HD Max Black 20K
  • Engineered for lifted trucks, low-tongue gooseneck-converted trailers, and low-deck haulers

Why the Super Drop Frame

Four Extra Holes, Way More Drop

You get four more adjustment holes than the standard 8-hole HD Max Black frame. That extra room down the frame is what gets you 10 to 12 inches of drop, enough to level a lifted truck the standard frame simply cannot reach.

Air Ride at Any Drop Setting

Most deep-drop hitches are solid steel, so every frost heave and pothole slams straight through your truck and your cargo. The Super Drop keeps the airbag working across the entire drop range, so you get the clearance you need and still ride soft.

Reversible for Rise

Flip the frame over and you pick up as much as 2 inches of rise. Handy for a cab-over camper or a taller trailer tongue sitting behind a stock-height truck.

Fits the HD Max Black Ecosystem

It takes every HD Max Black ball mount attachment, from combo balls to pintles to clevises to drawbars. Buy the frame once and swap the attachment as your trailers change instead of buying a whole new hitch.

Built For These Trucks and Trailers

If your factory hitch has the trailer hanging nose-up or nose-down, you need more drop range than it has. This frame gives it to you.

  • Lifted half-ton, 3/4-ton, and 1-ton pickups running a 3 to 6 inch lift
  • Trailers with low front tongues that drag on a stock-height truck
  • Low-deck equipment haulers, race trailers, and gooseneck-converted bumper-pull trailers
  • Dual-rear-wheel trucks that sit tall from the factory
  • Any rig where the usual 6 to 7 inch drop still cannot get the trailer level
  • F-250 and RAM 2500-class three-quarter-ton trucks (class V receivers) running aftermarket suspension

Super Drop vs Standard HD Max Black 20K

Both ride on the same 20K air ride chassis. Pick based on how much drop your setup actually needs.

Option 1

Standard HD Max Black 20K (8-hole frame)

Gives you roughly 7 inches of drop. That is the right call for a stock-height truck pulling a typical bumper-pull trailer. It costs less and it is the standard pick for most HD Max Black buyers.

Option 2

HD Max Black Super Drop (12-hole frame)

Gives you up to 12-1/2 inches of drop. Go with this one when the standard frame just cannot get the trailer level, like on lifted trucks, low-tongue trailers, or an odd height mismatch. It runs about $50 to $80 more than the standard frame.

Why Level Tow Matters More Than Most Buyers Realize

Here is why this matters even if you are new to towing. When a trailer rides nose-high, weight comes off its front axle and the trailer starts to sway behind you. When it rides nose-low, the front axle gets overloaded and the trailer dives every time you hit the brakes. Both of those wear your tires faster, beat up the ride, and stretch out your stopping distance. Getting the trailer level is the single biggest tow safety upgrade most lifted-truck owners can make, and the Super Drop frame is what lets you do it without giving up air ride.

Built and Finished for the Long Haul

A heavy-duty steel chassis wearing a textured matte black powder coat that hides road grime, takes rock chips without flaking, and holds up to the sun better than a gloss finish. Inside is the same multi-ply commercial air bag Shocker runs across the whole HD line. It is covered by Shocker's 60-day satisfaction guarantee, and it is in stock in Canada, so it ships direct with no border wait.
