How the Shocker HD Air Ride Works
Air Spring Rated to 20K
A heavy-duty multi-ply rubber air bag carries up to 20,000 lbs of trailer while it soaks up the jolts that would otherwise hammer your truck and your cargo. Same engineering as the HD Red, finished to match the matte-black chassis.
Tunes to Empty or Loaded
A heavy trailer can swing 1,000+ lbs between empty and full. Air it up for the loaded run and bleed it back for the deadhead home. The HD air bag has a wider usable pressure range than the 14K to cover that spread.
Reinforced HD Chassis
Same 8-hole outer geometry, so every Shocker ball mount still fits, but built from thicker-wall steel with reinforced welds rated for 20K loads, all under a textured matte-black powder coat.

This Shocker HD Max Black Air Hitch & Drop Ball Mount w/ 2" Ball ships set up as a 4-1/2" to 8-1/2" Drop ball mount. Most Shocker ball mounts flip over, so you can turn that drop into rise, and the 8 adjustment holes let you fine-tune coupler height. A heavy bumper-pull trailer cares a lot about sitting level. Get the drop wrong and you overload the trailer's front or rear axle, so take a minute to dial it in.
