I've ridden in the trailer myself — the difference in shock is huge. Our horses come off so much more relaxed, and there's less wear on the truck and trailer too.

Adjustable for Weight

Fine-tune for your towing weight. Just add air for heavier loads. Just add or reduce air depending on the weight of your trailer and it's contents.

HD Pivoting Design

Filters the rock shock through the urethane cushions with the greaseable 1" diameter 1045 carbon steel pivot bolt.

Hitch Rated at 20,000 lbs GTW

HD air hitch rated for 20,000 lbs towing capacity and a 2,000 lbs tongue weight.

12 Adjustment Holes & 3" to 11" Drop

With the massive drop of this hitch, you should have at least 22″ of height from the ground to the bottom of your trucks receiver tube.

Stop destroying your trailer and cargo.

Every bump, pothole, and expansion joint sends a violent jolt through your trailer frame, damaging cargo and wearing out your truck. Shocker Air Ride Hitches absorb that punishment at the coupling, before it reaches your trailer.

When your truck sits high and your trailer tongue sits low, a standard hitch can't bridge the gap, so you end up towing nose-high or nose-low with all the sway, chucking, and white-knuckle braking that comes with it. The Shocker HD Max Black Super Drop closes that gap. Its 12-hole Super Drop frame gives you up to 12-1/2 inches of drop, and it rides on the same 20K air ride suspension the whole HD Max Black line is built around, so you get the clearance without the pounding of a solid steel drop bar. This Shocker HD Max Black Super Drop Air Channel Style Pintle & Ball Hitch hauls up to 16,000 lbs GTW, slides into a 3-inch receiver, and adjusts from 3″ Drop to 7″ Drop so you can dial in a level tow on a lifted rig or a low-deck trailer.

Why You'd Reach for the Super Drop Frame

Four Extra Holes of Drop

You get four more adjustment holes than the standard 8-hole HD Max Black frame. That extra room is what lets you reach 10 to 12 inches of drop, enough to bring a lifted truck down to a low trailer tongue.

Air Ride Even at Full Drop

Most extreme-drop hitches are one solid chunk of steel, and every frost heave and pothole slams straight through your truck and trailer. The Super Drop keeps the airbag working across the entire drop range, so you never trade a smooth ride for the clearance you need.

Flip It Over for Rise

Turn the frame upside down and you pick up as much as 2 inches of rise. Handy for a cab-over camper or a taller trailer tongue behind a stock-height truck.

Works With Your HD Max Black Attachments

It takes every HD Max Black ball mount attachment: combo balls, pintles, clevises, and drawbars. Buy the frame once and swap attachments as your trailers change.

Built For These Trucks and Trailers

If your factory hitch leaves your trailer sitting nose-up or nose-down, you need more drop range than it can give. This frame is how you fix it.

  • Lifted half-ton, 3/4-ton, and 1-ton pickups running 3 to 6 inch lifts
  • Trailers with low front tongues that drag on stock-height trucks
  • Low-deck equipment haulers, race trailers, and gooseneck-converted bumper-pull trailers
  • Dual-rear-wheel trucks that sit tall straight from the factory
  • Any rig where a standard 6 to 7 inch drop still won't get the trailer level
  • F-350 / RAM 3500 / dual-rear-wheel one-ton trucks (class V/VI receivers) running aftermarket suspension

Super Drop vs Standard HD Max Black 20K

Both run the same 20K air ride chassis. Pick based on how much drop your setup actually needs.

Option 1

Standard HD Max Black 20K (8-hole frame)

Gives you up to about 7 inches of drop. It's the right call for a stock-height truck pulling a typical bumper-pull trailer, it costs less, and it's the default choice in the HD Max Black lineup.

Option 2

HD Max Black Super Drop (12-hole frame)

Gives you up to 12-1/2 inches of drop. Reach for it when the standard frame can't get your trailer level, like a lifted truck, a low-tongue trailer, or an odd height mismatch. It runs about $50 to $80 more than the standard frame.

Why a Level Tow Matters More Than Most Buyers Realize

A trailer that tows nose-high pulls weight off its own front axle, and that is what starts a trailer swaying behind you. A trailer that tows nose-low overloads the front axle and dives every time you hit the brakes. Either way you burn through tires, ride rough, and add distance to every stop. Getting the trailer level is the single biggest towing safety upgrade most lifted-truck owners can make, and the Super Drop frame is what makes it possible without giving up air ride.

Built and Finished for the Long Haul

A heavy-duty steel chassis wearing a textured matte black powder coat that hides road grime, fights off rock chips, and holds up to the sun better than a glossy finish. It uses the same multi-ply commercial air bag found across the Shocker HD line. Backed by Shocker's 60-day satisfaction guarantee, in stock, and shipping direct from Canada with no border wait.
