I've ridden in the trailer myself — the difference in shock is huge. Our horses come off so much more relaxed, and there's less wear on the truck and trailer too.

Hitch Rated at 20,000 lbs GTW

HD air hitch rated for 20,000 lbs towing capacity and a 2,000 lbs tongue weight.

Adjustable 8-Ton Pintle Hook & Ball Combo

Adjustable combination forged 8-ton pintle hook & chrome hitch ball mount offering a 3 to 11" of drop. Fits 6" OD x 3" ID pintle rings. 8-Ton 16,000 lbs Pintle Hook. Comes with 2" chrome hitch ball.

Stop destroying your trailer and cargo.

Every bump, pothole, and expansion joint sends a violent jolt through your trailer frame, damaging cargo and wearing out your truck. Shocker Air Ride Hitches absorb that punishment at the coupling, before it reaches your trailer.

Lift the truck and suddenly nothing lines up. The trailer tongue rides low, your factory hitch hangs it there, and every mile that nose-high or nose-low angle chews on your tires and shoves the trailer around behind you. The Shocker HD Max Black Super Drop closes that gap. Its 12-hole Super Drop frame gives you up to 12-1/2 inches of drop, enough to pull a low trailer tongue down level under a jacked-up rig, and it carries the same 20K air ride suspension the rest of the HD Max Black line runs. Rated at 16,000 lbs GTW, it fits 3-inch receivers and adjusts from 3″ Drop to 7″ Drop, so you can dial in a flat, level tow on lifted trucks and low-deck trailers.

Why the Super Drop Frame

Four Extra Holes, Deeper Drop

This frame has four more adjustment holes than the standard 8-hole HD Max Black frame. Those extra holes are what let you reach 10 to 12 inches of drop and get a lifted truck sitting level with its trailer.

Air Ride at Every Drop Setting

Most deep-drop hitches are a solid chunk of steel, which means every frost heave and pothole comes straight up through the cab. The Super Drop keeps the airbag working across the whole drop range, so you get the clearance without beating up the truck and the cargo.

Flip It Over for Rise

Turn the frame over and you get up to 2 inches of rise instead. Handy if you run a cab-over camper or a higher trailer tongue on a stock-height truck.

Works With Your HD Max Black Attachments

It takes every HD Max Black ball mount attachment, from combo balls and pintles to clevises and drawbars. Buy the frame once and swap the attachment as your trailers change.

Built For These Trucks and Trailers

If your factory hitch leaves the trailer pointing up or down at the road, you need more drop than it can give. This is the frame that fixes it.

  • Lifted half-ton, 3/4-ton, and 1-ton pickups running 3 to 6 inch lifts
  • Trailers with low front tongues that sit too low behind a tall truck
  • Low-deck equipment haulers, race trailers, and gooseneck-converted bumper-pull trailers
  • Dual-rear-wheel trucks that ride tall from the factory
  • Any rig where a standard 6 to 7 inch drop still cannot get the trailer level
  • F-350 / RAM 3500 / dual-rear-wheel one-ton trucks (class V/VI receivers) running aftermarket suspension

Super Drop vs Standard HD Max Black 20K

Both run the exact same 20K air ride chassis. The only question is how much drop your truck and trailer actually call for.

Option 1

Standard HD Max Black 20K (8-hole frame)

Gives you up to roughly 7 inches of drop. That is plenty for a stock-height truck pulling a typical bumper-pull trailer. It costs less and is the default choice in the HD Max Black line.

Option 2

HD Max Black Super Drop (12-hole frame)

Gives you up to 12-1/2 inches of drop. Reach for it when the standard frame cannot get the trailer level, like on lifted trucks, low-tongue trailers, or odd height mismatches. It runs $50 to $80 over the standard frame.

Why a Level Trailer Is a Safety Upgrade

When a trailer tows nose-high, weight comes off its front axle and the trailer starts to sway behind you. When it tows nose-low, the front axle gets overloaded and the whole trailer dives every time you hit the brakes. Both ways you burn through tires, ride rough, and stretch out your stopping distance. Getting the trailer level is the single biggest tow safety upgrade most lifted-truck owners can make, and the Super Drop frame is the tool that makes it possible without giving up air ride.

Built and Finished to Live Outside

The chassis is heavy-duty steel wearing a textured matte black powder coat that hides road grime, takes rock chips without flaking, and holds up to sun better than a gloss finish. Inside is the same multi-ply commercial air bag Shocker runs across the whole HD line. It is backed by Shocker's 60-day satisfaction guarantee, and it is in stock and shipping from Canada, so there is no border wait.
