Stop destroying your trailer and cargo.
Every bump, pothole, and expansion joint sends a violent jolt through your trailer frame, damaging cargo and wearing out your truck. Shocker Air Ride Hitches absorb that punishment at the coupling, before it reaches your trailer.
Lift a truck or run tall tires and the trailer tongue ends up sitting well below your receiver. Hook up anyway and the trailer tows nose-down, so it wanders on the highway, dives when you brake, and chews through tires. The Shocker HD Max Black Super Drop was built to close that gap. Its 12-hole Super Drop frame gives you up to 12-1/2 inches of drop, enough to bring the trailer back to level on a lifted rig or a low-deck trailer, and under the load sits the same 20K air ride suspension as the rest of the HD Max Black line to soak up frost heaves and hard stops instead of hammering them into your truck. It hauls up to 16,000 lbs GTW, slides into a 2-1/2-inch receiver, carries a 2-inch ball and pintle combo, and offers 3″ Drop to 7″ Drop for dialing in a level tow. In stock and shipping direct from Canada, no border wait.
Key Highlights
- Up to 12-1/2 inches of drop, the deepest in the HD Max Black family, so even a tall lifted truck can pull its trailer level
- Hauls up to 16,000 lbs GTW with full air ride under it, so heavy loads ride smooth instead of jarring
- 12-hole Super Drop frame lets you fine-tune the height until the trailer sits dead level
- Textured matte black powder coat shrugs off rock chips, rust, and UV fade while hiding road grime
- 2-1/2-inch shank drops straight into F-250 and RAM 2500-class three-quarter-ton trucks (class V receivers)
- Flip the frame over for extra rise when your trailer tongue sits higher than the truck
- Same airbag and same chassis strength as the standard HD Max Black 20K, just with more drop

Why the Super Drop Frame
12-Hole Drop Range
Four more adjustment holes than the standard 8-hole HD Max Black frame. Those extra holes are what open up 10 to 12 inches of drop, the range a lifted truck needs to bring its trailer back to level.
Air Ride at Any Drop Setting
Most deep-drop hitches are one solid chunk of steel, so every bump and pothole goes straight up into the cab. This one keeps the airbag working across the whole drop range, so you get the clearance and still keep the smooth ride.
Reversible for Rise
Flip the frame over and you get up to 2 inches of rise instead of drop. Handy for a cab-over camper or a taller trailer tongue behind a stock-height truck.
Fits the HD Max Black Ecosystem
Takes every HD Max Black ball mount attachment: combo balls, pintles, clevises, and drawbars. Buy the frame once and just swap the attachment as your trailers change.
Built For These Trucks and Trailers
If your factory hitch leaves the trailer sitting nose-up or nose-down, you need more drop range than it can give. This frame delivers it.
- Lifted half-ton, 3/4-ton, and 1-ton pickups running 3 to 6 inch lifts
- Trailers with low front tongues that ride nose-down behind a taller truck
- Low-deck equipment haulers, race trailers, and gooseneck-converted bumper-pull trailers
- Dually trucks that sit tall right from the factory
- Any setup where the standard 6 to 7 inch drop still can't get the trailer level
- F-250 and RAM 2500-class three-quarter-ton trucks (class V receivers) running aftermarket suspension
Super Drop vs Standard HD Max Black 20K
Both ride on the same 20K air ride chassis. Pick based on how much drop your truck-and-trailer combo actually needs.
Standard HD Max Black 20K (8-hole frame)
Gets you up to roughly 7 inches of drop. It's the right call for a stock-height truck pulling a typical bumper-pull trailer, and it costs less.
HD Max Black Super Drop (12-hole frame)
Gets you up to 12-1/2 inches of drop. Reach for this one when the standard frame just can't bring the trailer level, like lifted trucks, low-tongue trailers, or odd height mismatches. It runs $50 to $80 more than the standard frame.
Why Getting the Trailer Level Matters More Than You Think
Tow nose-high and weight lifts off the trailer's front axle, which is exactly what starts a trailer swaying behind you. Tow nose-low and you overload that front axle, so the trailer dives every time you hit the brakes. Both ways you pay for it in faster tire wear, a rougher ride, and longer stopping distances. For most lifted-truck owners, getting the trailer level is the single biggest safety upgrade they can make, and the Super Drop frame is what makes it possible without giving up air ride.
Built and Finished for the Long Haul
Under the finish is a heavy-duty steel chassis meant to live outside and take abuse. The textured matte black powder coat hides road grime, fights off rock chips, and holds up to UV far better than a glossy finish that fades. Inside it runs the same multi-ply commercial air bag used across the Shocker HD line. It's backed by Shocker's 60-day satisfaction guarantee, in stock, and shipping direct from Canada.
