I've ridden in the trailer myself — the difference in shock is huge. Our horses come off so much more relaxed, and there's less wear on the truck and trailer too.

Adjustable for Weight

Fine-tune for your towing weight. Just add air for heavier loads. Adjust the air pressure for the best ride and load control. Fine tune your towing by easily adding or reducing air as needed.

12 Adjustment Holes & 3" Drop to 11" Drop

With the massive drop of this hitch, you should have at least 22″ of height from the ground to the bottom of your trucks receiver tube.

Built-in HD Air Ride System

Absorbs road shock and creates a smooth ride & reduces trailer sway. Dual rubber bump cushions offer additional HD performance.

Improves Safety

By giving you improved control of your tow vehicle and trailer. The air bag receiver hitch system allows for better control of your pickup and the trailer it is towing.

Stop destroying your trailer and cargo.

Every bump, pothole, and expansion joint sends a violent jolt through your trailer frame, damaging cargo and wearing out your truck. Shocker Air Ride Hitches absorb that punishment at the coupling, before it reaches your trailer.

When your truck sits high and your trailer tongue rides low, that gap is what makes a trailer tow nose-up, chuck at every bump, and fight you at the stops. The Shocker HD Max Black Super Drop closes it. The 12-hole Super Drop frame gives you up to 12-1/2 inches of drop, and it does it while keeping the same 20K air ride suspension that runs through the whole HD Max Black line, so you get the clearance without the bone-jarring ride of a solid steel drop hitch. Rated at 20,000 lbs GTW, this Shocker HD Max Black Super Drop Air Hitch & Channel Style Pintle Hook fits 2-1/2-inch receivers and adjusts from 3″ Drop to 11″ Drop, so you can dial in a level tow on a lifted rig or a low-deck trailer and pull it flat.

Why the Super Drop Frame

Four Extra Holes, A Lot More Drop

You get four more adjustment holes than the standard 8-hole HD Max Black frame. Those extra holes are what let you reach 10 to 12 inches of drop, enough to bring a trailer down level behind a lifted truck.

Air Ride at Every Setting

Most extreme-drop hitches are solid steel, so you feel every frost heave and pothole right through the truck. The Super Drop keeps the airbag working across the entire drop range, so you never trade a smooth ride for the clearance you need.

Flip It for Rise

Turn the frame over and you get up to 2 inches of rise. Handy for a cab-over camper or a taller trailer tongue when your truck is sitting at stock height.

One Frame, Every Attachment

It takes every HD Max Black ball mount attachment: combo balls, pintles, clevises, and drawbars. Buy the frame once and swap attachments as your trailers change.

Built For These Trucks and Trailers

If your factory hitch leaves the trailer sitting nose-up or nose-down, you need more drop range than it can give. This frame is how you fix it.

  • Lifted half-ton, 3/4-ton, and 1-ton pickups running 3 to 6 inch lifts
  • Trailers with low front tongues that ride nose-up on a taller truck
  • Low-deck equipment haulers, race trailers, and gooseneck-converted bumper-pull trailers
  • Dual-rear-wheel trucks that sit tall from the factory
  • Any rig where the standard 6 to 7 inch drop still cannot get the trailer level
  • F-250 / RAM 2500-class three-quarter-ton trucks (class V receivers) running aftermarket suspension

Super Drop vs Standard HD Max Black 20K

Both run the same 20K air ride chassis. The only question is how much drop your setup actually needs.

Option 1

Standard HD Max Black 20K (8-hole frame)

Gives up to roughly 7 inches of drop. It is the right call for a stock-height truck pulling a typical bumper-pull trailer, and it costs less.

Option 2

HD Max Black Super Drop (12-hole frame)

Gives up to 12-1/2 inches of drop. Pick this when the standard frame cannot get the trailer level, which usually means a lifted truck, a low-tongue trailer, or an odd height mismatch. It runs $50 to $80 more than the standard frame.

Why Getting the Trailer Level Matters So Much

Tow nose-high and weight comes off the trailer's front axle, which is what starts a trailer swaying behind you. Tow nose-low and you overload that front axle and the trailer dives every time you hit the brakes. Either way you pay for it in tire wear, a rougher ride, and longer stops. For most lifted-truck owners, getting the trailer to sit level is the single biggest safety gain they can make, and the Super Drop frame is what lets them do it without giving up air ride.

Built to Take a Beating and Keep Its Looks

The chassis is heavy-duty steel, wrapped in a textured matte black powder coat that hides road grime, fights off rock chips, and holds up to sun better than a gloss finish. Inside is the same multi-ply commercial air bag Shocker runs across the whole HD line. It is backed by Shocker's 60-day satisfaction guarantee, and it is in stock and shipping direct from Canada, so there is no border wait.
