The Air Spring Takes the Hit
The HD multi-ply rubber air bag carries up to 20,000 lbs of trailer and still cushions the road shock that would otherwise hammer your truck and cargo. Same engineering as the HD Red, finished to match the matte-black chassis.
Dial It In for the Load You've Got
A heavy bumper-pull trailer can swing more than 1,000 lbs between empty and full. Add air for the max-weight haul, let some out for the deadhead run home. The HD air bag has a wider usable pressure range than the 14K.
Built Heavier Where It Counts
It keeps the same external 8-hole geometry, so every Shocker ball mount still fits, but the steel is thicker-walled and the welds are reinforced for 20K loads. Finished in textured matte-black powder coat.

3-Inch Receiver Option
The HD Max Black comes in a 3-inch receiver for dual-rear-wheel one-ton trucks, something the Max Black 14K doesn't offer.

This Shocker HD Max Black Air Hitch & Pintle Hook w/Mount ships in a 2.5" Rise to 6.5″ Drop ball-mount setup. Most Shocker ball mounts flip over, so you can turn that drop into rise, and the 8 adjustment holes let you fine-tune coupler height from there. A heavy bumper-pull trailer really cares about sitting level. Get the drop wrong and you overload either the front or rear axle of the trailer instead of spreading the weight, so take a minute to dial it in.
