The Air Spring Takes the Hit: An HD multi-ply rubber air bag carries up to 20,000 lbs of trailer load while soaking up the road shock before it reaches your truck and your cargo. It's the same engineering as the HD Red, finished to match the matte-black chassis.

Air Up Loaded, Bleed Down Empty: A heavy bumper-pull trailer can swing 1,000+ lbs between empty and full. Add air for a max-weight run, bleed it back down for the deadhead home. The HD airbag has a wider usable pressure range than the 14K.

A Frame Built for the Weight: It keeps the same external 8-hole geometry, so every Shocker ball mount still fits, but adds thicker wall steel and reinforced welds rated for 20K loads, all under a textured matte-black powder coat.

A 3-Inch Receiver Option: HD Max Black comes in a 3-inch receiver built for dual-rear-wheel one-ton trucks, a configuration the Max Black 14K doesn't offer.

This Shocker HD Max Black Air Hitch & Pintle Hook w/Mount ships set up for a 2.5" Rise to 6.5″ Drop. A trailer that rides nose-high or nose-low throws its weight onto the wrong axle and chews up tires and bearings early.

Most Shocker ball mounts are reversible, so you can flip the mount to turn drop into rise, or work the 8 adjustment holes to fine-tune coupler height. Heavy bumper-pull trailers feel a mismatched drop the most, since it overloads either the front or rear axle of the trailer, so take the time to dial it in.
