I've ridden in the trailer myself — the difference in shock is huge. Our horses come off so much more relaxed, and there's less wear on the truck and trailer too.

Adjustable for Weight

Fine-tune for your towing weight. Just add air for heavier loads. Adjust the air pressure for the best ride and load control. Fine tune your towing by easily adding or reducing air as needed.

12 Adjustment Holes & 2.5" Rise to 10.5" Drop

With the massive drop of this hitch, you should have at least 22″ of height from the ground to the bottom of your trucks receiver tube.

Built-in HD Air Ride System

Absorbs road shock and creates a smooth ride & reduces trailer sway. Dual rubber bump cushions offer additional HD performance.

What Size Receiver Hitch Do

I Need? Not sure if you have a 2", 2-1/2" or 3" receiver tube? Measure inside to inside. Check out our guide on How to measure receiver hitch tube size?

Stop destroying your trailer and cargo.

Every bump, pothole, and expansion joint sends a violent jolt through your trailer frame, damaging cargo and wearing out your truck. Shocker Air Ride Hitches absorb that punishment at the coupling, before it reaches your trailer.

When your truck sits high on a lift and your trailer tongue rides low, the trailer hooks up nose-high and every mile pays for it in sway, wear, and rough stops. That gap is exactly what the Shocker HD Max Black Super Drop closes. The 12-hole Super Drop frame gives you up to 12-1/2 inches of drop, and it carries the same 20K air ride suspension that defines the HD Max Black line, so you get the clearance without the pounding. This Shocker HD Max Black Super Drop Air Hitch & Pintle Hook w/Mount is rated at 20,000 lbs GTW, slides into any 2-inch receiver, and adjusts from 2.5″ Drop to 10.5″ Drop so you can dial in a dead-level tow on lifted rigs and low-deck trailers.

Why You'd Reach for the Super Drop Frame

12-Hole Drop Range

Four more adjustment holes than the standard 8-hole HD Max Black frame. That extra room is what gets you 10 to 12 inches of drop when your truck rides high.

Air Ride at Every Drop Setting

Most extreme-drop hitches are solid steel, so you feel every bump straight up the arm. The Super Drop keeps the airbag working across the entire drop range, so you never give up a smooth ride to get the clearance you need.

Flip It for Rise

Turn the frame over and you get up to 2 inches of rise. Handy for a cab-over camper or a taller trailer tongue behind a stock-height truck.

Works Across the HD Max Black Ecosystem

Takes every HD Max Black ball mount attachment: combo balls, pintles, clevises, drawbars. Buy the frame once and swap attachments as your trailers change.

Built For These Trucks and Trailers

If your factory hitch leaves the trailer nose-up or nose-down, you need more drop range. This frame gives you the room to fix it.

  • Lifted half-ton, 3/4-ton, and 1-ton pickups running 3 to 6 inch lifts
  • Trailers with low front tongues that drag behind a stock-height truck
  • Low-deck equipment haulers, race trailers, and gooseneck-converted bumper-pull trailers
  • Dual-rear-wheel trucks that sit tall straight from the factory
  • Any rig where the standard 6 to 7 inch drop just cannot get the trailer level
  • F-150-class half-ton trucks (and class III/IV receivers) running aftermarket suspension

Super Drop vs Standard HD Max Black 20K

Both ride on the same 20K air ride chassis. Pick based on how much drop your setup actually needs.

Option 1

Standard HD Max Black 20K (8-hole frame)

Up to roughly 7 inches of drop. The right call for a stock-height truck pulling a typical bumper-pull trailer. It costs less and is the default in the HD Max Black lineup.

Option 2

HD Max Black Super Drop (12-hole frame)

Up to 12-1/2 inches of drop. Reach for this one when the standard frame cannot get the trailer level, which usually means a lifted truck, a low-tongue trailer, or an odd height mismatch. It runs $50 to $80 more than the standard frame.

Why Level Tow Matters More Than Most Buyers Realize

A trailer that tows nose-high pulls weight off its own front axle, and that is what starts a trailer swaying behind you. A trailer that tows nose-low overloads the front axle and dives every time you hit the brakes. Either way you lose tire life, ride quality, and stopping distance. Getting the trailer level is the single biggest tow safety upgrade most lifted-truck owners can make, and the Super Drop frame is the tool that makes it possible while keeping your air ride.

Built and Finished for the Long Haul

Heavy-duty steel chassis wearing a textured matte black powder coat that hides road grime, shrugs off rock chips, and holds up to UV better than a gloss finish. It uses the same multi-ply commercial air bag found across the Shocker HD line. Backed by Shocker's 60-day satisfaction guarantee, in stock and shipping straight from Canada with no border wait.
