I've ridden in the trailer myself — the difference in shock is huge. Our horses come off so much more relaxed, and there's less wear on the truck and trailer too.

Matte Black Finish

Impact resistant Max Black™ textured matte black Premium powder-coat finish on hitch.

Adjustable for Weight

Fine-tune for your towing weight. Just add air for heavier loads. Adjust the air pressure for the best ride and load control. Fine tune your towing by easily adding or reducing air as needed.

20,000 lbs Heavy Duty Capacity

20,000 lbs towing capacity and a 2,000 lbs tongue weight. 2-5/16" ball rated at 20,000 lbs & 2" ball rated at 10,000 lbs.

12 Adjustment Holes & 0" to 8-1/2" of Drop

With the massive drop of this hitch, you should have at least 22" of height from the ground to the bottom of your trucks receiver tube.

Stop destroying your trailer and cargo.

Every bump, pothole, and expansion joint sends a violent jolt through your trailer frame, damaging cargo and wearing out your truck. Shocker Air Ride Hitches absorb that punishment at the coupling, before it reaches your trailer.

Your truck sits tall and your trailer tongue sits low, so the trailer rides nose-up, wanders behind you, and chews through tires while every hard stop feels like a fight. The Shocker HD Max Black Super Drop closes that gap. Its 12-hole Super Drop frame gives you up to 12-1/2 inches of drop to finally get the trailer level, and it does it on the same 20K air ride suspension that carries the whole HD Max Black line, so you keep the smooth ride instead of trading it away for clearance. This Shocker HD Max Black Super Drop Air Hitch & Chrome Combo Ball Mount Shocker & Sway Bar Tabs hauls up to 20,000 lbs GTW, slides into a 3-inch receiver, and offers 1/2" to 8-1/2" Drop so you can dial in a level tow on a lifted rig or a low-deck trailer.

Key Highlights

  • Up to 12-1/2 inches of drop, the deepest in the whole HD Max Black family, so even a big lift can sit level
  • Hauls up to 20,000 lbs GTW on full air ride, so heavy loads quit chucking your truck around
  • 12-hole Super Drop frame lets you fine-tune the height until the trailer sits dead level
  • Textured matte black powder coat shrugs off rock chips, rust, and sun fade season after season
  • 3-inch shank drops straight into F-350, RAM 3500, and dual-rear-wheel one-ton trucks (class V/VI receivers)
  • Flip the frame over for extra rise when a taller trailer or truck calls for it
  • Same airbag and same chassis strength as the standard HD Max Black 20K, no shortcuts for the extra drop
  • Built for lifted trucks, low-tongue gooseneck-converted trailers, and low-deck haulers

Installation

Why the Super Drop Frame

Four Extra Holes, A Lot More Drop

You get four more adjustment holes than the standard 8-hole HD Max Black frame. Those extra holes are what let you reach 10 to 12 inches of drop to level out a lifted truck.

Air Ride at Every Drop Setting

Most deep-drop hitches are solid steel, so every frost heave and expansion joint slams straight through the truck. The Super Drop keeps the airbag working across the entire drop range, so you get the clearance without the beating.

Flip It for Rise

Turn the frame over and you pick up as much as 2 inches of rise. Handy for a cab-over camper or a taller trailer tongue behind a stock-height truck.

Works With Every HD Max Black Attachment

It takes any HD Max Black ball mount attachment, from combo balls to pintles, clevises, and drawbars. Buy the frame once and swap attachments as your trailers change.

Built For These Trucks and Trailers

If your factory hitch leaves the trailer sitting nose-up or nose-down, you need more drop range. This frame gives it to you.

  • Lifted half-ton, 3/4-ton, and 1-ton pickups (3 to 6 inch lifts)
  • Trailers with low front tongues that ride nose-high on tall trucks
  • Low-deck equipment haulers, race trailers, and gooseneck-converted bumper-pull trailers
  • Dual-rear-wheel trucks that sit tall from the factory
  • Any rig where the standard 6 to 7 inch drop can't get the trailer level
  • F-350, RAM 3500, and dual-rear-wheel one-ton trucks (class V/VI receivers) on aftermarket suspension

Super Drop vs Standard HD Max Black 20K

Both ride on the same 20K air ride chassis. Pick based on how much drop your setup actually needs.

Option 1

Standard HD Max Black 20K (8-hole frame)

Gives you up to roughly 7 inches of drop. It's the right call for a stock-height truck pulling a typical bumper-pull trailer, and it's the lower-cost, standard pick.

Option 2

HD Max Black Super Drop (12-hole frame)

Gives you up to 12-1/2 inches of drop. Go with this when the standard frame can't get the trailer level, like on lifted trucks, low-tongue trailers, or odd height mismatches. It runs about $50 to $80 more than the standard frame.

Why a Level Tow Matters More Than Most Buyers Think

When a trailer tows nose-high, weight comes off its front axle and the whole thing starts to sway behind you. When it tows nose-low, the front axle gets overloaded and the trailer dives every time you hit the brakes. Either way you pay for it in chewed-up tires, a rougher ride, and longer stops. For most lifted-truck owners, getting the trailer level is the single biggest safety upgrade they can make, and the Super Drop frame is what makes it possible without giving up air ride.

Built and Finished for the Long Haul

This is a heavy-duty steel chassis wearing a textured matte black powder coat that hides road grime, takes rock chips without flaking, and holds up to the sun better than a gloss finish. Inside runs the same multi-ply commercial air bag found across the whole Shocker HD line. It's covered by Shocker's 60-day satisfaction guarantee, and it's in stock and shipping direct from Canada with no border wait.
