I've ridden in the trailer myself — the difference in shock is huge. Our horses come off so much more relaxed, and there's less wear on the truck and trailer too.

Adjustable Combo Ball Mount Tow Rating

2-5/16" ball rated at 20,000 lbs & 2" ball rated at 10,000 lbs. Matte black powder coat base and chrome balls finish.

Matte Black Finish

Max Black™ Textured Matte Black Premium Impact Resistant Powder-Coat Finish.

12 Adjustment Holes

0 to 8-1/2" of drop. The super drop hitch ideally needs at least 22" of height from the ground to the bottom of your trucks receiver tube.

Built-in HD Air Ride System

Absorbs road shock and creates a smooth ride & reduces trailer sway. Dual rubber bump cushions offer additional HD performance.

Stop destroying your trailer and cargo.

Every bump, pothole, and expansion joint sends a violent jolt through your trailer frame, damaging cargo and wearing out your truck. Shocker Air Ride Hitches absorb that punishment at the coupling, before it reaches your trailer.

Your truck sits tall and your trailer tongue sits low, so the trailer rides nose-down and chucks and sways every time the road turns rough. A standard drop hitch can't reach far enough to level it, and the solid-steel ones that can beat up your truck, trailer, and cargo on every frost heave. The Shocker HD Max Black Super Drop closes that gap. Its 12-hole frame gives you up to 12-1/2 inches of drop, and the built-in 20K air ride bag keeps everything cushioned no matter how deep you set it. Rated at 20,000 lbs GTW, it fits any 2-inch receiver and adjusts from 1/2 inch to 8-1/2 inches of drop, so lifted rigs and low-deck trailers finally ride dead level.

Key Highlights

  • Up to 12-1/2 inches of drop, the deepest reach in the whole HD Max Black family, so even a big lift can still tow level
  • Hauls up to 20,000 lbs GTW on a cushioned air ride bag, so hard stops and rough road quit pounding your rig
  • 12-hole Super Drop frame lets you tune the height hole by hole until the trailer sits flat
  • Textured matte black powder coat shrugs off rock chips, rust, and sun fade and hides grime between washes
  • 2-inch shank drops into F-150-class half-tons and any class III/IV receiver
  • Reversible frame flips over for added rise when a taller trailer or cab-over camper calls for it
  • Same air bag and same chassis strength as the standard HD Max Black 20K, just with a lot more reach
  • Built for lifted trucks, low-tongue gooseneck-converted trailers, and low-deck haulers

What the Super Drop Frame Gives You

Four Extra Holes of Drop

You get four more adjustment holes than the standard 8-hole HD Max Black frame. Those extra holes are what let you reach 10 to 12 inches of drop and level out even a well-lifted truck.

Air Ride at Every Setting

Most extreme-drop hitches are solid steel, so every bump and hard stop slams straight through to your truck and trailer. The Super Drop keeps the air bag working across the whole drop range, so you get the clearance and keep the smooth ride.

Flip It Over for Rise

Turn the frame upside down and you pick up as much as 2 inches of rise. Handy when a cab-over camper or a taller trailer tongue sits above a stock-height truck.

One Frame, Every Attachment

It takes every HD Max Black ball mount attachment, from combo balls and pintles to clevises and drawbars. Buy the frame once and swap the attachment as your trailers change.

Built for Trucks That Sit Too Tall

If your factory hitch leaves the trailer hanging nose-up or nose-down, you need more drop range. This frame gets it flat.

  • Lifted half-ton, 3/4-ton, and 1-ton pickups running 3 to 6 inch lifts
  • Trailers with low front tongues that ride nose-up behind a tall truck
  • Low-deck equipment haulers, race trailers, and gooseneck-converted bumper-pulls
  • Dually trucks that sit tall right from the factory
  • Any rig where a standard 6 to 7 inch drop still can't get the trailer level
  • F-150-class half-tons on aftermarket suspension, and class III/IV receivers

Super Drop or Standard: Which One You Need

Both ride on the same 20K air ride chassis. Pick based on how much drop your setup actually needs.

Option 1

Standard HD Max Black 20K (8-hole frame)

Up to roughly 7 inches of drop. It's the right call for a stock-height truck pulling a typical bumper-pull trailer, and it costs less. That's where most buyers land.

Option 2

HD Max Black Super Drop (12-hole frame)

Up to 12-1/2 inches of drop. Reach for this one when the standard frame just can't get the trailer level, whether that's a lifted truck, a low-tongue trailer, or an odd height mismatch. It runs $50 to $80 more than the standard frame.

Why Getting the Trailer Level Actually Matters

When a trailer tows nose-high, weight comes off its front axle and the whole rig starts to sway behind you. Tow it nose-low and you overload that front axle, so the trailer dives every time you hit the brakes. Either way you pay for it in tire wear, ride quality, and stopping distance. For most lifted-truck owners, getting the trailer level is the single biggest safety gain they can make, and the Super Drop frame is what makes it possible without giving up the air ride.

Built and Finished to Take a Beating

Under the coat is a heavy-duty steel chassis, and over it sits a textured matte black powder coat that hides road grime, fights off rock chips, and holds up to sun and UV better than a gloss finish. Inside is the same multi-ply commercial air bag Shocker runs across the whole HD line. It's covered by Shocker's 60-day satisfaction guarantee, and it's in stock and shipping straight from Canada with no border wait.
