I've ridden in the trailer myself — the difference in shock is huge. Our horses come off so much more relaxed, and there's less wear on the truck and trailer too.

Matte Black Finish

Impact resistant Max Black™ textured matte black Premium powder-coat finish on hitch.

Adjustable for Weight

Fine-tune for your towing weight. Just add air for heavier loads. Adjust the air pressure for the best ride and load control. Fine tune your towing by easily adding or reducing air as needed.

20,000 lbs Heavy Duty Capacity

20,000 lbs towing capacity and a 2,000 lbs tongue weight. 2-5/16" ball rated at 20,000 lbs & 2" ball rated at 10,000 lbs.

12 Adjustment Holes & 0" to 8-1/2" of Drop

With the massive drop of this hitch, you should have at least 22" of height from the ground to the bottom of your trucks receiver tube.

Stop destroying your trailer and cargo.

Every bump, pothole, and expansion joint sends a violent jolt through your trailer frame, damaging cargo and wearing out your truck. Shocker Air Ride Hitches absorb that punishment at the coupling, before it reaches your trailer.

You lifted the truck and now the trailer rides nose-high, or the trailer's tongue sits so low the factory hitch can barely reach it. Either way the trailer fights you: it chucks and sways on the highway, chews through tires, and stops harder than it should. The Shocker HD Max Black Super Drop Air Hitch & Chrome Combo Ball Mount Shocker & Sway Bar Tabs closes that height gap and smooths the ride at the same time. Its 12-hole Super Drop frame reaches up to 12-1/2 inches of drop, far more than a standard hitch, so a tall truck can still pull a low trailer flat and level. It carries the same 20K air ride airbag as the rest of the HD Max Black line, is rated at 20,000 lbs GTW, fits a 2-inch receiver, and adjusts across 1/2" to 8-1/2" Drop to dial in a settled tow on a lifted rig.

Why the Super Drop Frame

Four Extra Holes, a Lot More Drop

The standard HD Max Black frame gives you eight holes. This one gives you twelve. Those four extra holes are what open up 10 to 12 inches of drop, so a lifted truck can still reach down to a low trailer.

Air Ride No Matter How Deep You Drop

Most deep-drop hitches are solid steel, so every frost heave and pothole slams straight through your truck and trailer. The Super Drop keeps the airbag working across the entire drop range, so you get the clearance you need and a cushioned ride with it.

Flip It Over for Rise

Turn the frame upside down and you get up to 2 inches of rise instead of drop. Handy for a cab-over camper or a taller trailer tongue behind a stock-height truck.

One Frame, Every Attachment

It takes every HD Max Black ball mount attachment, from combo balls to pintles, clevises, and drawbars. Buy the frame once and swap the attachment as your trailers change.

Built For These Trucks and Trailers

If your factory hitch leaves the trailer sitting nose-up or nose-down, you need more drop range than it can give you. This frame is how you get it.

  • Lifted half-ton, 3/4-ton, and 1-ton pickups running a 3 to 6 inch lift
  • Trailers with low front tongues that sit too low for a stock-height truck
  • Low-deck equipment haulers, race trailers, and gooseneck-converted bumper-pull trailers
  • Dually trucks that ride tall from the factory
  • Any rig where the usual 6 to 7 inch drop still can't get the trailer level
  • F-150-class half-ton trucks (and class III/IV receivers) running aftermarket suspension

Super Drop vs Standard HD Max Black 20K

Both run the same 20K air ride chassis. Pick based on how much drop your setup actually needs.

Option 1

Standard HD Max Black 20K (8-hole frame)

Gives you up to roughly 7 inches of drop. It's the right call for a stock-height truck pulling a typical bumper-pull trailer, and it costs less.

Option 2

HD Max Black Super Drop (12-hole frame)

Gives you up to 12-1/2 inches of drop. Reach for this one when the standard frame just can't level the trailer, like on a lifted truck, a low-tongue trailer, or an odd height mismatch. It runs about $50 to $80 more than the standard frame.

Why a Level Trailer Is the Whole Point

When a trailer rides nose-high, weight comes off its front axle and it starts to sway behind you. When it rides nose-low, the front axle gets overloaded and the trailer dives every time you hit the brakes. Both ways you burn through tires faster, feel a rougher ride, and take longer to stop. For most lifted-truck owners, getting the trailer to sit level is the single biggest safety gain they can make, and the Super Drop frame is what lets you do it without giving up air ride.

Built to Take the Miles

The chassis is heavy-duty steel wrapped in a textured matte black powder coat that hides road grime, takes rock chips without flaking, and holds up to sun and UV better than a gloss finish. Inside is the same multi-ply commercial air bag Shocker runs across the whole HD line. It comes with Shocker's 60-day satisfaction guarantee, and it's in stock and shipping direct from Canada with no border wait.
