I've ridden in the trailer myself — the difference in shock is huge. Our horses come off so much more relaxed, and there's less wear on the truck and trailer too.

Adjustable for Weight

Fine-tune for your towing weight. Just add air for heavier loads. Adjust the air pressure for the best ride and load control. Fine tune your towing by easily adding or reducing air as needed.

Built-in HD Air Ride System

Absorbs road shock and creates a smooth ride & reduces trailer sway. Dual rubber bump cushions offer additional HD performance.

12 Adjustment Holes

2" of rise to 6" of drop. With the massive drop of this hitch, you should have at least 22″ of height from the ground to the bottom of your trucks receiver tube.

2 Hole Receiver Shank

Available for 2", 2 1/2" & 3" receiver hitch tubes with Two hitch pin holes for length adjustability.

Stop destroying your trailer and cargo.

Every bump, pothole, and expansion joint sends a violent jolt through your trailer frame, damaging cargo and wearing out your truck. Shocker Air Ride Hitches absorb that punishment at the coupling, before it reaches your trailer.

Lift a truck and your trailer starts riding nose-high off the back. That tilt shoves weight onto the wrong axle, sets the trailer wandering in your mirrors, and chucks you around on every frost heave and hard stop. The Shocker HD Max Black Super Drop does the one thing a normal hitch can't: reach far enough down to level a low trailer tongue under a tall truck. The 12-hole Super Drop frame gives you up to 12-1/2 inches of drop, and it rides on the same 20K air ride suspension the HD Max Black line is built on, so the airbag takes the beating instead of your back. Rated at 20,000 lbs GTW, it drops into a 3-inch receiver and adjusts from 2 inches of rise to 6 inches of drop so you can dial in a dead-level tow. Comes with a 2" ball and sway bar tabs, in stock and shipping direct from Canada.

Why Choose the Super Drop Frame

Four Extra Holes to Work With

The Super Drop frame carries four more adjustment holes than the standard 8-hole HD Max Black frame. Those extra holes are what let you reach 10 to 12 inches of drop, enough to bring a low tongue up level under a lifted truck.

Air Ride at Every Drop Setting

Most deep-drop hitches are a solid chunk of steel that beats up you and your trailer over every bump. The Super Drop keeps the airbag working through the entire drop range, so getting the clearance you need never costs you the smooth ride.

Flip It Over for Rise

Turn the frame upside down and you get up to 2 inches of rise instead of drop. That comes in handy for a cab-over camper or a taller trailer tongue behind a stock-height truck.

Buy the Frame Once

It takes every HD Max Black ball mount attachment, from combo balls to pintles, clevises, and drawbars. Buy the frame one time and swap attachments as your trailers change, instead of buying a whole new hitch.

Built for These Trucks and Trailers

If your factory hitch leaves the trailer pointing up or down at the road, you need more drop to work with. This frame gives it to you.

  • Lifted half-ton, 3/4-ton, and 1-ton pickups running 3 to 6 inch lifts
  • Trailers with low front tongues that ride nose-high behind a stock-height truck
  • Low-deck equipment haulers, race trailers, and gooseneck-converted bumper-pull trailers
  • Dually trucks that already sit tall from the factory
  • Any rig where a standard 6 to 7 inch drop still can't get the trailer level
  • F-350, RAM 3500, and dually one-ton trucks (class V/VI receivers) running aftermarket suspension

Super Drop or Standard HD Max Black 20K

Both run the exact same 20K air ride chassis. The only real question is how much drop your setup actually needs.

Option 1

Standard HD Max Black 20K (8-hole frame)

Gives you up to roughly 7 inches of drop. It's the right call for a stock-height truck pulling a typical bumper-pull trailer, and it costs less, so it's the usual starting point for the HD Max Black line.

Option 2

HD Max Black Super Drop (12-hole frame)

Reaches up to 12-1/2 inches of drop. Step up to this one when the standard frame just can't get the trailer level, whether that's a lifted truck, a low-tongue trailer, or an odd height mismatch. It runs $50 to $80 more than the standard frame.

Why a Level Trailer Matters More Than You'd Think

Tow nose-high and weight comes off the trailer's front axle, which is what sets the whole thing swaying behind you. Tow nose-low and you overload that front axle, so the trailer dives every time you hit the brakes. Go either way and you pay for it in chewed-up tires, a rougher ride, and longer stopping distances. For most lifted-truck owners, getting the trailer sitting dead level is the single biggest tow safety upgrade they can make, and the Super Drop frame is what makes it possible while you keep your air ride.

Built to Take a Beating and Keep Its Looks

The chassis is heavy-duty steel wearing a textured matte black powder coat that hides road grime, takes rock chips without flinching, and holds up to sun and UV far better than a glossy finish. Inside is the same multi-ply commercial air bag that runs across the whole Shocker HD line. It's backed by Shocker's 60-day satisfaction guarantee, in stock and shipping from Canada.
