The Air Spring Doing the Work
The heavy-duty multi-ply rubber air bag carries up to 20,000 lbs of trailer load and still cushions the road shock so it never reaches your truck or your cargo. Same proven engineering as the HD Red, finished to match the matte-black chassis.

A heavy bumper-pull trailer can swing 1,000+ lbs between empty and full, so a fixed hitch is always wrong for one of them. Add air for the max-weight run, let it out for the deadhead home. The HD airbag has a wider usable pressure range than the 14K, so it covers both ends.

Three-Inch Receiver Option
HD Max Black comes in a 3-inch receiver for dual-rear-wheel one-ton trucks, a size the Max Black 14K doesn't offer.
Flippable Drop / Rise Geometry
This hitch ships in a 2" Rise to 2" Drop ball-mount setup. Most Shocker ball mounts flip over, so you can turn that drop into a rise, and the 8 adjustment holes let you fine-tune coupler height on top of that. Heavy bumper-pull trailers are picky about sitting level. Get the drop wrong and you overload either the front or the rear axle of the trailer, so take the time to dial it in.
