I've ridden in the trailer myself — the difference in shock is huge. Our horses come off so much more relaxed, and there's less wear on the truck and trailer too.

Adjustable for Weight

Fine-tune for your towing weight. Just add air for heavier loads. Adjust the air pressure for the best ride and load control. Fine tune your towing by easily adding or reducing air as needed.

Built-in HD Air Ride System

Absorbs road shock and creates a smooth ride & reduces trailer sway. Dual rubber bump cushions offer additional HD performance.

12 Adjustment Holes

2" of rise to 6" of drop. With the massive drop of this hitch, you should have at least 22″ of height from the ground to the bottom of your trucks receiver tube.

2 Hole Receiver Shank

Available for 2", 2 1/2" & 3" receiver hitch tubes with Two hitch pin holes for length adjustability.

Stop destroying your trailer and cargo.

Every bump, pothole, and expansion joint sends a violent jolt through your trailer frame, damaging cargo and wearing out your truck. Shocker Air Ride Hitches absorb that punishment at the coupling, before it reaches your trailer.

Lift your truck and suddenly the trailer rides nose-up, the front axle goes light, and the whole rig starts to chuck and sway down the highway. Every frost heave and hard stop gets worse, and it wears on your truck, your trailer, and whatever you loaded. The Shocker HD Max Black Super Drop fixes the height mismatch that causes it. The 12-hole Super Drop frame gives you up to 12-1/2 inches of drop, so you can finally pull the tongue down and tow level even when your truck sits high and the trailer tongue sits low. It carries the same 20K air ride suspension as the rest of the HD Max Black line, so the airbag soaks up the road instead of your spine. This Shocker HD Max Black Super Drop Air Hitch & Raised Ball Mount w/ 2" Ball & Sway Bar Tabs is rated at 20,000 lbs GTW, fits 2-1/2-inch receivers, and adjusts from 2" Rise to 6" Drop to dial in level tow on lifted rigs and low-deck trailers.

Key Highlights

  • Up to 12-1/2 inches of drop, the deepest reach in the HD Max Black family, so even a tall truck can pull the tongue down level

  • 12-hole Super Drop frame lets you fine-tune the height hole by hole until the trailer sits dead level
  • Textured matte black powder coat hides road grime and shrugs off chips, rust, and UV fade
  • 2-1/2-inch shank drops straight into F-250 and RAM 2500-class three-quarter-ton trucks (class V receivers)

  • Same airbag and same chassis strength as the standard HD Max Black 20K, just with more drop

Why the Super Drop Frame

Four Extra Holes of Drop

You get four more adjustment holes than the standard 8-hole HD Max Black frame. Those extra holes are what let you reach 10 to 12 inches of drop and get a lifted truck's trailer sitting level.

Air Ride at Every Drop Setting

Most deep-drop hitches are solid steel, so every bump slams straight through the truck and the trailer. The Super Drop keeps the airbag working across the whole drop range, so you get the clearance without the jarring ride.

Flip It for Rise

Turn the frame over and you get up to 2 inches of rise. Handy for a cab-over camper or a taller trailer tongue on a stock-height truck.

Works With Every HD Max Black Attachment

It takes every HD Max Black ball mount attachment, including combo balls, pintles, clevises, and drawbars. Buy the frame once and swap the attachment as your trailers change.

Built For These Trucks and Trailers

If your factory hitch leaves the trailer nose-up or nose-down, you need more drop range, and this frame gives it to you.

  • Lifted half-ton, 3/4-ton, and 1-ton pickups running 3 to 6 inch lifts
  • Trailers with low front tongues that sit too low behind a stock-height truck
  • Low-deck equipment haulers, race trailers, and gooseneck-converted bumper-pull trailers
  • Dual-rear-wheel trucks that ride tall from the factory
  • Any rig where the standard 6 to 7 inch drop can't get the trailer level
  • F-250 and RAM 2500-class three-quarter-ton trucks (class V receivers) running aftermarket suspension

Super Drop vs Standard HD Max Black 20K

Both ride on the same 20K air ride chassis. Pick based on how much drop your setup actually needs.

Option 1

Standard HD Max Black 20K (8-hole frame)

Gives you up to about 7 inches of drop. It's the right call for a stock-height truck pulling a typical bumper-pull trailer, it costs less, and it's the default pick for most HD Max Black buyers.

Option 2

HD Max Black Super Drop (12-hole frame)

Gives you up to 12-1/2 inches of drop. Reach for it when the standard frame can't get the trailer level, whether that's a lifted truck, a low-tongue trailer, or an odd height mismatch. It runs $50 to $80 more than the standard frame.

Why Level Tow Matters More Than Most Buyers Think

Tow nose-high and weight comes off the trailer's front axle, which is what sets off sway on the highway. Tow nose-low and you overload that front axle, so the trailer dives every time you hit the brakes. Either way you chew through tires, fight a rough ride, and add distance to every stop. Getting the trailer level is the single biggest tow safety upgrade most lifted-truck owners can make, and the Super Drop frame is what makes it possible without giving up air ride.

Built and Finished for the Long Haul

A heavy-duty steel chassis wearing a textured matte black powder coat that hides road grime, fights off rock chips, and holds up to the sun better than a gloss finish. Inside is the same multi-ply commercial air bag that runs across the Shocker HD line. Backed by Shocker's 60-day satisfaction guarantee, in stock and shipping direct from Canada with no border wait.
