20K Air Spring Soaks Up the Road
The heavy multi-ply rubber air bag carries up to 20,000 lbs of trailer load and still cushions the road shock before it reaches your truck and your cargo. Same air-ride guts as the HD Red, just finished to match the matte-black chassis.
Tune It Empty or Loaded
A heavy bumper-pull trailer can swing 1,000+ lbs between empty and full, and a fixed mount can't tell the difference. Add air for the max-weight haul, bleed it back off for the deadhead run home. The HD airbag has a wider usable pressure range than the 14K, so it keeps up with bigger swings.
Built Heavier Where It Counts

HD Max Black can be had with a 3-inch receiver for dual-rear-wheel one-ton trucks, which is something the Max Black 14K simply doesn't offer.

This Shocker HD Max Black Air Hitch & Raised Ball Mount w/ 2" Ball & Sway Bar Tabs ships in a 2" Rise to 2" Drop ball-mount setup. Most Shocker ball mounts flip over, so you can turn that drop into a rise, and the 8 adjustment holes let you fine-tune coupler height on top of that. A heavy bumper-pull trailer is fussy about sitting level. Get the drop wrong and you pile weight onto the trailer's front or rear axle, chewing tires and stressing the frame, so take the time to dial it in right.
