I've ridden in the trailer myself — the difference in shock is huge. Our horses come off so much more relaxed, and there's less wear on the truck and trailer too.

Adjustable for Weight

Fine-tune for your towing weight. Just add air for heavier loads. Adjust the air pressure for the best ride and load control. Fine tune your towing by easily adding or reducing air as needed.

Built-in HD Air Ride System

Absorbs road shock and creates a smooth ride & reduces trailer sway. Dual rubber bump cushions offer additional HD performance.

12 Adjustment Holes

2" of rise to 6" of drop. With the massive drop of this hitch, you should have at least 22″ of height from the ground to the bottom of your trucks receiver tube.

2 Hole Receiver Shank

Available for 2", 2 1/2" & 3" receiver hitch tubes with Two hitch pin holes for length adjustability.

Stop destroying your trailer and cargo.

Every bump, pothole, and expansion joint sends a violent jolt through your trailer frame, damaging cargo and wearing out your truck. Shocker Air Ride Hitches absorb that punishment at the coupling, before it reaches your trailer.

You lift the truck, and suddenly every trailer you hook up rides nose-high. The tongue sits low, the truck sits tall, and that mismatch is exactly what makes a load chuck, sway, and beat on your gear over frost heaves and hard stops. The Shocker HD Max Black Super Drop closes that gap. Its 12-hole Super Drop frame gives you up to 12-1/2 inches of drop, enough to pull a lifted rig back down to level, and it runs the same 20K air ride suspension found across the HD Max Black line, so you get the clearance without the bone-jarring ride of a solid drop bar. This Shocker HD Max Black Super Drop Air Hitch & Raised Ball Mount w/ 2-5/16" Ball & Sway Bar Tabs is rated at 20,000 lbs GTW, drops into any 2-inch receiver, and adjusts from 2" Rise to 6" Drop to dial in a flat, level tow on lifted rigs and low-deck trailers.

Key Highlights

  • Up to 12-1/2 inches of drop, the deepest reach in the HD Max Black family, so even a lifted truck can tow level
  • Hauls up to 20,000 lbs GTW on full air ride, so heavy loads ride smooth instead of harsh
  • 12-hole Super Drop frame lets you fine-tune the height until the trailer sits dead level
  • Textured matte black powder coat shrugs off rock chips, rust, and UV fade
  • 2-inch shank drops into F-150-class half-ton trucks (and class III/IV receivers)
  • Reversible frame flips over for added rise when your setup calls for it
  • Same airbag and same chassis strength as the standard HD Max Black 20K, just with more drop
  • Built for lifted trucks, low-tongue gooseneck-converted trailers, and low-deck haulers

Installation

Why the Super Drop Frame

Four More Holes, A Lot More Drop

Four more adjustment holes than the standard 8-hole HD Max Black frame. That extra room is what lets you dial in 10 to 12 inches of drop and get a lifted truck sitting level.

Air Ride Even at Full Drop

Most deep-drop hitches are solid steel, so every bump comes straight through to the truck and the trailer. The Super Drop keeps the airbag working across the entire drop range, so you never have to trade a smooth ride for the clearance you need.

Flip It for Rise

Turn the frame over and you get up to 2 inches of rise. Handy for a cab-over camper or a taller trailer tongue behind a stock-height truck.

One Frame, Every Attachment

It takes every HD Max Black ball mount attachment: combo balls, pintles, clevises, and drawbars. Buy the frame once and swap the attachment as your trailers change.

Rigs This Frame Was Made For

If your factory hitch leaves the trailer nose-up or nose-down, you need more drop to work with. This frame gives it to you.

  • Lifted half-ton, 3/4-ton, and 1-ton pickups running 3 to 6 inch lifts
  • Trailers with low front tongues that sit too low behind a stock-height truck
  • Low-deck equipment haulers, race trailers, and gooseneck-converted bumper-pull trailers
  • Dual-rear-wheel trucks that already sit tall from the factory
  • Any setup where a standard 6 to 7 inch drop still leaves the trailer off level
  • F-150-class half-ton trucks (and class III/IV receivers) running aftermarket suspension

Super Drop vs Standard HD Max Black 20K

Both ride on the same 20K air ride chassis. The only real question is how much drop your setup actually needs.

Option 1

Standard HD Max Black 20K (8-hole frame)

Gives you up to roughly 7 inches of drop. That is plenty for a stock-height truck pulling a typical bumper-pull trailer, it costs less, and it is the standard pick in the HD Max Black lineup.

Option 2

HD Max Black Super Drop (12-hole frame)

Gives you up to 12-1/2 inches of drop. Reach for this one when the standard frame just cannot get the trailer level, whether that is a lifted truck, a low-tongue trailer, or an odd height mismatch. It runs about $50 to $80 more than the standard frame.

Why Level Tow Matters More Than Most Buyers Think

When a trailer tows nose-high, weight comes off the trailer's front axle and the whole thing starts to sway behind you. When it tows nose-low, the front axle gets overloaded and the trailer dives every time you hit the brakes. Either way, you chew through tires faster, the ride gets rougher, and your stopping distance grows. For most lifted-truck owners, getting the trailer sitting flat and level is the single biggest safety upgrade they can make, and the Super Drop frame is what makes it possible without giving up the air ride.

Built and Finished for the Long Haul

A heavy-duty steel chassis carries the load, and the textured matte black powder coat hides road grime, fights off rock chips, and holds up to sun and UV far better than a glossy finish. Inside is the same multi-ply commercial air bag Shocker runs across the whole HD line. It is backed by Shocker's 60-day satisfaction guarantee, and it is in stock and ships straight from Canada, so there is no border wait.
