I've ridden in the trailer myself — the difference in shock is huge. Our horses come off so much more relaxed, and there's less wear on the truck and trailer too.

Smother Safer Towing

Air ride towing technology with a heavy-duty built-in air ride system to cushion the ride & absorb the road shock.

Matte Black Finish

Max Black™ Textured Matte Black Premium Powder-Coat Finish on Base Frame.

Improves Safety

By giving you improved control of your tow vehicle and trailer. The air bag receiver hitch system allows for better control of your pickup and the trailer it is towing.

Built-in HD Air Ride System

Absorbs road shock, bumps, bangs, tugs & jerks and creates a smooth ride & reduces the tendency to trailer sway. Dual rubber bump cushions also offer additional HD performance.

Stop destroying your trailer and cargo.

Every bump, pothole, and expansion joint sends a violent jolt through your trailer frame, damaging cargo and wearing out your truck. Shocker Air Ride Hitches absorb that punishment at the coupling, before it reaches your trailer.

Lift a truck a few inches and the trailer suddenly hooks up nose-high, riding on its back axles and chucking and swaying every time the road turns rough. The Shocker HD Max Black Super Drop closes that gap. Its 12-hole frame drops the hitch up to 12-1/2 inches so a tall lifted rig and a low trailer tongue finally sit level, and it keeps the same 20K air ride airbag working the whole way down instead of pounding you like a solid drop bar. It hauls up to 20,000 lbs GTW, drops into 2-1/2-inch receivers, and gives you 12 adjustment holes to dial in a flat, level tow on lifted trucks and low-deck trailers.

Key Highlights

  • Drops up to 12-1/2 inches, the deepest reach in the HD Max Black family, so even a tall lifted truck can pull level
  • Hauls up to 20,000 lbs GTW with the airbag soaking up the road instead of your spine
  • 12-hole frame lets you fine-tune the height until the trailer sits dead level
  • Textured matte black powder coat shrugs off rock chips, rust, and sun fade
  • 2-1/2-inch shank drops straight into F-250 / RAM 2500-class three-quarter-ton trucks (class V receivers)
  • Flip the frame over for extra rise when you need to raise the trailer instead
  • Same airbag and same chassis strength as the standard HD Max Black 20K, just with more drop
  • Built for lifted trucks, low-tongue gooseneck-converted trailers, and low-deck haulers

Why the Super Drop Frame

Four Extra Holes, Way More Drop

Four more adjustment holes than the standard 8-hole HD Max Black frame. Those extra holes are what get you 10 to 12 inches of drop, enough to level out a lifted truck.

Air Ride Even at Full Drop

Most extreme-drop hitches are one solid chunk of steel, so every frost heave and pothole slams straight up into the cab. The Super Drop keeps the airbag working across the entire drop range, so you get the clearance without giving up the smooth ride.

Flips Over for Rise

Flip the frame over and you get up to 2 inches of rise instead. Handy for cab-over campers or a taller trailer tongue behind a stock-height truck.

Works With Your HD Max Black Attachments

It takes every HD Max Black ball mount attachment: combo balls, pintles, clevises, and drawbars. Buy the frame once and swap attachments as your trailers change.

Built For These Trucks and Trailers

If your factory hitch leaves the trailer hanging nose-up or nose-down, you need more drop range. This frame gives it to you.

  • Lifted half-ton, 3/4-ton, and 1-ton pickups running 3 to 6 inch lifts
  • Trailers with low front tongues that ride nose-high on tall trucks
  • Low-deck equipment haulers, race trailers, and gooseneck-converted bumper-pull trailers
  • Dually trucks that sit tall right from the factory
  • Any rig where the standard 6 to 7 inch drop still can't get the trailer level
  • F-250 / RAM 2500-class three-quarter-ton trucks (class V receivers) on aftermarket suspension

Super Drop vs Standard HD Max Black 20K

Both ride on the same 20K air ride chassis. Pick based on how much drop your setup actually needs.

Option 1

Standard HD Max Black 20K (8-hole frame)

Gives you up to about 7 inches of drop. The right call for a stock-height truck pulling a typical bumper-pull trailer. Costs less and is the standard starting point for most buyers.

Option 2

HD Max Black Super Drop (12-hole frame)

Gives you up to 12-1/2 inches of drop. Go with this when the standard frame just can't get the trailer level, like on lifted trucks, low-tongue trailers, or an odd height mismatch. Runs $50 to $80 more than the standard frame.

Why a Level Trailer Is a Safer Trailer

Tow a trailer nose-high and it pulls weight off the front axle, and that is when it starts swaying behind you at highway speed. Tow it nose-low and the front axle carries too much load, so the whole rig dives every time you hit the brakes. Either way you burn through tires faster, the ride gets rough, and your stopping distance grows. For most lifted-truck owners, getting the trailer sitting level is the single biggest safety gain there is, and the Super Drop frame is what makes it happen without giving up the air ride.

Built to Take a Beating and Keep Its Finish

Heavy-duty steel chassis wearing a textured matte black powder coat that hides road grime, laughs off rock chips, and holds its color in the sun where a gloss finish would fade. Underneath is the same multi-ply commercial air bag Shocker runs across the whole HD line. Every one is covered by Shocker's 60-day satisfaction guarantee, and it is in stock and shipping straight from Canada with no border wait.
