I've ridden in the trailer myself — the difference in shock is huge. Our horses come off so much more relaxed, and there's less wear on the truck and trailer too.

Smother Safer Towing

Air ride towing technology with a heavy-duty built-in air ride system to cushion the ride & absorb the road shock.

Matte Black Finish

Max Black™ Textured Matte Black Premium Powder-Coat Finish on Base Frame.

Improves Safety

By giving you improved control of your tow vehicle and trailer. The air bag receiver hitch system allows for better control of your pickup and the trailer it is towing.

Built-in HD Air Ride System

Absorbs road shock, bumps, bangs, tugs & jerks and creates a smooth ride & reduces the tendency to trailer sway. Dual rubber bump cushions also offer additional HD performance.

Stop destroying your trailer and cargo.

Every bump, pothole, and expansion joint sends a violent jolt through your trailer frame, damaging cargo and wearing out your truck. Shocker Air Ride Hitches absorb that punishment at the coupling, before it reaches your trailer.

When your truck sits high and your trailer tongue sits low, the trailer rides nose-down and every bump slams straight up the frame. You feel it in the mirrors, in the cargo, and in your lower back on a long haul. The Shocker HD Max Black Super Drop closes that gap. Its 12-hole frame drops up to 12-1/2 inches so you can pull the trailer nose level even on a lifted rig, and the same 20K air ride suspension that runs across the HD Max Black line soaks up the frost heaves and hard stops instead of passing them to you. This base frame comes complete with pins (no ball mount), carries a 20,000 lb GTW rating, fits any 2-inch receiver, and gives you 12 adjustment holes to dial in a level tow on lifted trucks and low-deck trailers.

Key Highlights

  • Drops up to 12-1/2 inches, the deepest reach in the HD Max Black family, so you can level a lifted truck
  • Hauls up to 20,000 lbs GTW on full air ride, so heavy loads ride smooth instead of jarring
  • 12-hole Super Drop frame lets you fine-tune the height until the trailer sits dead level
  • Textured matte black powder coat shrugs off rock chips, rust, and sun fade, so it still looks right years in
  • 2-inch shank drops into F-150-class half-ton trucks (and class III/IV receivers)
  • Flip the frame for extra rise when a taller trailer tongue needs it
  • Same airbag and same chassis strength as the standard HD Max Black 20K, just with more drop
  • Built for lifted trucks, low-tongue gooseneck-converted trailers, and low-deck haulers

Why the Super Drop Frame

Four Extra Holes, Way More Drop

Four more adjustment holes than the standard 8-hole HD Max Black frame. Those extra holes are what let you reach 10 to 12 inches of drop and finally pull a lifted truck's trailer level.

Air Ride at Every Drop Setting

Most extreme-drop hitches are solid steel, so every bump comes through hard. The Super Drop keeps the airbag working across the entire drop range, so you get the clearance you need without beating up your truck, trailer, and cargo.

Flip It for Rise

Turn the frame over and you get up to 2 inches of rise. Handy for a cab-over camper or a taller trailer tongue behind a stock-height truck.

Works With Every HD Max Black Attachment

It takes every HD Max Black ball mount attachment: combo balls, pintles, clevises, and drawbars. Buy the frame once and swap the attachment as your trailers change.

Built for These Trucks and Trailers

If your factory hitch leaves the trailer sitting nose-up or nose-down, you need more drop range, and this frame gives it to you.

  • Lifted half-ton, 3/4-ton, and 1-ton pickups running 3 to 6 inch lifts
  • Trailers with low front tongues that ride nose-down behind a stock-height truck
  • Low-deck equipment haulers, race trailers, and gooseneck-converted bumper-pull trailers
  • Dual-rear-wheel trucks that sit tall from the factory
  • Any rig where the standard 6 to 7 inch drop cannot get the trailer level
  • F-150-class half-ton trucks (and class III/IV receivers) running aftermarket suspension

Super Drop vs Standard HD Max Black 20K

Both run the same 20K air ride chassis. Pick based on how much drop your setup actually needs.

Option 1

Standard HD Max Black 20K (8-hole frame)

Gives you up to about 7 inches of drop. It is the right call for a stock-height truck pulling a typical bumper-pull trailer, and it costs less, so it is the standard pick for the HD Max Black line.

Option 2

HD Max Black Super Drop (12-hole frame)

Gives you up to 12-1/2 inches of drop. Go with this one when the standard frame cannot get the trailer level, like on lifted trucks, low-tongue trailers, or an odd height mismatch. It runs $50 to $80 more than the standard frame.

Why a Level Trailer Matters More Than You Think

Tow nose-high and weight comes off the trailer's front axle, which is what starts a trailer swaying behind you. Tow nose-low and you overload that front axle, so the nose dives every time you brake. Either way your tires wear faster, the ride gets rougher, and it takes longer to stop. Getting the trailer level is the single biggest safety upgrade most lifted-truck owners can make, and the Super Drop frame is what makes it possible without giving up air ride.

Built and Finished to Last

The chassis is heavy-duty steel wrapped in a textured matte black powder coat that hides road grime, takes rock chips without flaking, and holds up to sun better than a gloss finish. Inside is the same multi-ply commercial air bag Shocker runs across the HD line. It is backed by Shocker's 60-day satisfaction guarantee, and it is in stock and ships direct from Canada, so there is no border wait.
