How Shocker HD Air Ride Works
The Air Spring Takes the Hit
The HD multi-ply rubber air bag runs a heavier ply count than the 14K version, so it holds up to 20,000 lbs of trailer behind you and still soaks up the road shock before it reaches your truck and your cargo.
Dial It In for the Load
A heavy trailer can swing 1,000+ lbs between empty and full. Air up for the loaded run, bleed it off on the deadhead home. The HD airbag has a wider usable pressure range than the 14K, so you've got room to tune it either way.
Same Fit, Heavier Bones
It keeps the same outside shape as the Original line, so every Shocker ball mount still bolts right on, but the wall steel is thicker and the welds are reinforced to carry the 20K loadings.

A Tougher Airbag
The multi-ply rubber bag is rated for the full 20K GTW and has a wider usable pressure range, so it takes heavier tongue weight without bottoming out.
More Steel Where It Counts
Thicker steel and a reinforced weld pattern at the high-stress points let it carry heavier tongue weight than the 1,400 lbs the Original 14K is rated for.
Flip It for Drop or Rise
This hitch ships set up with a 1/2" to 4-1/2" Drop ball-mount. Most Shocker ball mounts are reversible, so you can flip the mount to turn that drop into a rise, or use the 8 adjustment holes to fine-tune coupler height. A heavy bumper-pull trailer really cares about sitting level. Get the drop wrong and you overload either the front or rear axle of the trailer, so take the time to set it right.
