Stop destroying your trailer and cargo.
Every bump, pothole, and expansion joint sends a violent jolt through your trailer frame, damaging cargo and wearing out your truck. Shocker Air Ride Hitches absorb that punishment at the coupling, before it reaches your trailer.
Load a heavy trailer on a rigid ball mount and every frost heave, expansion joint, and hard stop slams straight through the hitch into your truck, your trailer welds, and whatever you're hauling back there. The Shocker HD Air Hitch is the 20K red-finish heavyweight built to soak up that pounding. Sized for F-250 and RAM 2500-class three-quarter-ton trucks (class V receivers) with a 2-1/2-inch receiver, it carries 20,000 lbs GTW, the heaviest bumper-pull rating Shocker makes, on a beefier-wall version of the signature 8-hole chassis with an upgraded HD-rated airbag. If you run a one-ton truck near the top of the legal bumper-pull range, this is the hitch that keeps the ride under control.
Key Highlights
- Hauls up to 20,000 lbs GTW, the heaviest bumper-pull load Shocker rates
- A 20K-rated heavy-duty airbag with reinforced multi-ply rubber that cushions the road instead of passing it through

- Fits a 2-1/2-inch receiver, with a 3-inch option available for one-ton trucks
- Add or release air to dial in ride height and load support for whatever trailer is behind you
- Ships with 1/2" to 4-1/2" Drop ball-mount geometry so the trailer sits dead level
- Wrapped in the iconic safety-red impact-resistant powder coat

How the HD Air Ride Smooths Out the Road
20K-Rated Air Spring
The HD air bag uses more plies of rubber than the 14K version, so it carries up to 20,000 lbs of trailer and still soaks up the jolts before they reach your truck and cargo.
Adjust It for a Loaded or Empty Trailer
A heavy bumper-pull trailer can swing 1,000+ lbs between empty and full. Pump in air for a max-weight run, bleed it off for the deadhead home. The HD airbag has a wider usable pressure range than the 14K, so it keeps up with the swing.
Reinforced 8-Hole Chassis
It keeps the same outside shape as the Original line, so every Shocker ball mount still fits, but the walls are thicker and the welds reinforced to carry the 20K loads.
Single Rocker-Arm Pivot
Shocker's down-and-back motion runs on one pivot, with no slides, rollers, or stacked airbags, even at HD loads. Fewer parts working under that kind of stress means the hitch lasts longer.
Who the HD 20K Is Built For
Made for one-ton trucks and the heaviest legal bumper-pull loads.
- F-350, RAM 3500, and Silverado 3500 owners towing near their max trailer rating
- Livestock haulers pulling 30+ ft stock trailers on a bumper pull
- Equipment and skid-steer haulers running 16k+ tilt-deck trailers
- Big enclosed cargo trailers and car haulers up to 20,000 lbs
- Dual-rear-wheel trucks with a 3-inch receiver that need a matched HD hitch
- Anyone whose Original 14K keeps bottoming out under heavy tongue weight
What the HD Adds Over the Original
Same chassis shape and the same ball mounts fit, with three upgrades that matter under heavy loads:
Heavier Airbag
A multi-ply rubber bag rated for the full 20,000 lbs GTW with a wider usable pressure range, so it takes heavier tongue weight without bottoming out.
Beefier Walls and Welds
Thicker steel and a reinforced weld pattern at the high-stress points, rated for more tongue weight than the 1,400 lbs the Original 14K carries.
Flip It to Turn Drop Into Rise
This hitch ships set up with a 1/2" to 4-1/2" Drop ball mount. Most Shocker ball mounts are reversible, so you can flip the mount to turn that drop into rise, or use the 8 adjustment holes to fine-tune coupler height. A heavy trailer is fussy about sitting level. Get the drop wrong and you overload either the front or rear axle of the trailer, so take the time to dial it in.
Built to Take the Heaviest Loads
It's built from reinforced heavy-wall steel and finished in Shocker's signature impact-resistant safety-red powder coat, in stock and shipping direct from Canada with no border wait. If the HD-rated air bag ever needs replacing, you can swap it in minutes using the same simple Schrader-style fitting as the 14K. Every hitch is backed by Shocker Hitch's 60-day satisfaction guarantee.
