Stop destroying your trailer and cargo.
Every bump, pothole, and expansion joint sends a violent jolt through your trailer frame, damaging cargo and wearing out your truck. Shocker Air Ride Hitches absorb that punishment at the coupling, before it reaches your trailer.
Hook a 20,000-lb trailer to a rigid steel hitch and every frost heave, expansion joint, and hard stop slams straight through your one-ton truck, your trailer welds, and whatever you loaded. At max weight it only gets worse. The Shocker HD Air Hitch & Clevis Mount puts an HD-rated air spring between the truck and the trailer so that shock gets soaked up instead of passed along. It carries the full 20,000 lbs GTW and up to 2,000 lbs of tongue weight on a beefier-wall version of Shocker's proven 8-hole chassis, sized for F-350, RAM 3500, and dual-rear-wheel one-ton trucks (class V/VI receivers) running a 3-inch receiver. This is the red heavy-duty top of the bumper-pull line, built for the heaviest legal loads you can put behind a one-ton.
Key Highlights
- Pulls up to 20,000 lbs with 2,000 lbs on the tongue, the most weight any Shocker bumper-pull hitch is rated to carry
- A heavy-duty, multi-ply air spring rated to the full 20K soaks up the road shock instead of your truck taking it
- Thicker chassis walls than the Original 14K, same footprint with more steel where the load rides
- Fits a 3-inch receiver, the size dual-rear-wheel one-ton trucks run
- Add or release air to match any trailer and dial in ride height and load support in seconds
- 3-1/2" to 7-1/2" of drop so you can level the trailer and let both axles share the load
- Impact-resistant safety-red powder coat that shrugs off chips and rust
- Covered by our 60-day satisfaction guarantee

How Shocker HD Air Ride Works
Air Spring Rated to 20K
This HD air bag runs more rubber plies than the 14K version, so it carries up to 20,000 lbs of trailer and still cushions the jolts that would otherwise beat up your truck and cargo.
Set It for Loaded or Empty
A heavy bumper-pull load can swing over 1,000 lbs between empty and full. Air up for the loaded haul, bleed it down on the deadhead run home. The HD air bag works across a wider pressure range than the 14K, so it rides right at both ends.
Reinforced 8-Hole Body
Outside, it is the same shape as the Original line, so every Shocker ball mount still fits. Inside, it is thicker-wall steel with reinforced welds rated to hold the 20K load.
Single-Pivot Rocker Arm
The down-and-back motion runs on one pivot, with no slides, rollers, or stacked airbags, even at HD loads. Fewer parts working under that kind of stress means fewer things to wear out and a longer service life.
Who the HD 20K Is For
Built for one-ton trucks and the heaviest legal bumper-pull loads on the road.
- F-350, RAM 3500, and Silverado 3500 owners towing near their truck's max rating
- Livestock haulers pulling 30+ ft stock trailers on a bumper-pull setup
- Equipment and skid-steer haulers running 16k+ tilt-deck trailers
- Big enclosed cargo trailers and car haulers up to 20,000 lbs
- Dual-rear-wheel trucks with a 3-inch receiver that need a matched HD hitch
- Anyone whose Original 14K is bottoming out under heavy tongue weight
HD vs. Original, What Actually Changes
Same chassis shape, same attachment lineup. Here is what steps up when you go HD:
Heavier Air Bag
A multi-ply rubber bag rated for the full 20K GTW, working across a wider pressure range. It takes more tongue weight without bottoming out on the bumps.
Beefier Walls and Welds
Thicker steel and a reinforced weld pattern where the stress concentrates. That is what takes the tongue-weight rating up to 2,000 lbs, from 1,400 lbs on the Original 14K.
Flip It for Drop or Rise
This Shocker HD Air Hitch & Clevis Mount ships set up with 3-1/2" to 7-1/2" of drop. Most Shocker ball mounts flip over, so you can turn that drop into rise, and the 8 adjustment holes let you fine-tune coupler height on top of that. Getting a heavy trailer sitting dead level matters more than most people think. If the drop is off, you overload either the front or the rear axle of the trailer, so take the time to dial it in.
Built for the Heaviest Loads You'll Pull
It is reinforced heavy-wall steel under Shocker's impact-resistant safety-red powder coat, in stock and shipping direct from Canada with no border wait. If the HD air bag ever needs replacing, you can swap it yourself in minutes using the same simple Schrader-style fitting as the 14K. Backed by Shocker Hitch's 60-day satisfaction guarantee.
