How Shocker HD Air Ride Works
20K-Rated Air Spring
The HD air bag runs more rubber plies than the 14K version, so it carries up to 20,000 lbs of trailer and still cushions the road shock that would otherwise pound your truck and cargo.
Air Up or Bleed Off for the Load
A heavy bumper-pull trailer can swing 1,000+ lbs between empty and loaded. Air up for the max-weight run, then bleed it off on the deadhead home. The HD airbag has a wider usable pressure range than the 14K, so it rides right across that whole spread.
Reinforced 8-Hole Chassis
Same outside shape as the Original line, so every Shocker ball mount still bolts right up. Inside it runs thicker-wall steel and reinforced welds rated for the full 20K loading.
Single Rocker-Arm Pivot
Shocker's down-and-back motion rides on one pivot, with no slides, rollers, or stacked airbags even at HD weights. Fewer parts moving under that kind of stress means it lasts longer.

Heavier Airbag
A multi-ply rubber bag rated for the full 20K GTW, with a wider usable pressure range. It handles heavier tongue weight without bottoming out.
Beefier Walls and Welds
Thicker steel and a reinforced weld pattern at the high-stress points. That lets it carry more tongue weight than the 1,400 lbs the Original 14K is rated for.
Flippable Drop and Rise Geometry
This Shocker HD Air Hitch and Drawbar Mount ships set up for 1/2" to 4-1/2" of drop. Like most Shocker ball mounts, it flips over to turn that drop into rise, and the 8 adjustment holes let you fine-tune coupler height on top of that. Getting a heavy bumper-pull trailer sitting level really matters. If the drop is off, you overload either the front or the rear axle of the trailer, so take the time to dial it in.
