How Shocker HD Air Ride Works
The 20K Air Spring
The heart of it is an HD multi-ply rubber air bag with a heavier ply count than the 14K version. It carries up to 20,000 lbs of trailer load and still soaks up road shock before it reaches your truck and cargo.
Air Up Loaded, Air Down Empty
A heavy bumper-pull trailer can swing 1,000 lbs or more between empty and full. Add air for the max-weight run and bleed it back off for the deadhead home. The HD airbag has a wider usable pressure range than the 14K, so it covers that whole spread.
Same Bolt Pattern, More Steel
It keeps the exact outside geometry of the Original line, so every Shocker ball mount still fits. Underneath it runs thicker-wall steel and reinforced welds rated for the full 20K loadings.
One Pivot, Nothing to Wear Out

This kit ships set up as a 4-1/2" to 8-1/2" drop ball mount. Most Shocker ball mounts are reversible, so you can flip the mount to turn that drop into rise, or work the 8 adjustment holes to fine-tune coupler height. Heavy bumper-pull trailers care a lot about sitting level. Get the drop wrong and you overload either the front or the rear axle of the trailer, so take the time to dial it in.
