Air ride technology
Built in air ride system, cushions the ride & absorbing the road shock
Stop destroying your trailer and cargo.
Every bump, pothole, and expansion joint sends a violent jolt through your trailer frame, damaging cargo and wearing out your truck. Shocker Air Ride Hitches absorb that punishment at the coupling, before it reaches your trailer.
Hook up the heaviest legal trailer your truck can pull and the road fights back. Every frost heave and hard stop slams straight through a rigid ball mount into your driveline, your trailer welds, and your cargo. The Shocker HD Air Hitch & Drop Ball Mount w/ 2" Ball & Sway Bar Tabs is the 20K red-finish flagship built to swallow that punishment. An upgraded HD-rated airbag rides on a heavier-wall version of Shocker's signature 8-hole chassis, so it carries 20,000 lbs of gross trailer weight and up to 2,000 lbs of tongue weight while cushioning the truck and everything behind it. It slides into a 2-inch receiver on F-150-class half-ton trucks (class III/IV receivers) and is built for one-ton trucks pulling the heaviest bumper-pull loads on the road.

How the HD Air Ride Works
Air Spring Rated to 20K
The HD air bag uses more plies of rubber than the 14K version, so it carries up to 20,000 lbs of trailer and still soaks up the road shock that would otherwise beat on your truck and cargo.
Tune It to the Load
A heavy trailer can swing 1,000-plus lbs between empty and full. Air it up for a max-weight run, bleed it down for the deadhead home. The HD bag has a wider usable pressure range than the 14K, so it covers both ends.
Reinforced 8-Hole Chassis
Same outside shape as the Original line, so every Shocker ball mount still fits, but the walls are thicker steel and the welds are reinforced to handle the 20K loadings.
One Simple Pivot
The down-and-back motion runs on a single pivot, with no slides, no rollers, and no stacked airbags, even at HD loads. Fewer parts moving under heavy stress means it lasts longer.
Who the HD 20K Is Built For
Made for one-ton trucks and the heaviest legal bumper-pull combinations.
- F-350, RAM 3500, and Silverado 3500 owners towing near their max ratings
- Livestock haulers pulling 30+ ft bumper-pull stock trailers
- Equipment and skid-steer haulers on 16k+ tilt-deck trailers
- Big enclosed cargo trailers and car haulers up to 20,000 lbs
- Dual-rear-wheel trucks with a 3-inch receiver that need a matched HD hitch
- Anyone whose Original 14K bottoms out under heavy tongue weight
HD vs. Original, What Changed
Same chassis shape and the same attachment lineup, with three upgrades that matter:
Heavier Airbag
A multi-ply rubber bag rated for the full 20K GTW with a wider usable pressure range, so it takes heavier tongue weight without bottoming out.
Beefier Walls and Welds
Thicker steel and a reinforced weld pattern where the stress lands, rated for 2,000 lbs of tongue weight against 1,400 lbs on the Original 14K.
Flip It From Drop to Rise
This hitch ships set up as a 4-1/2" to 8-1/2" drop ball mount. Most Shocker ball mounts are reversible, so you can flip the mount to turn that drop into a rise, or use the 8 adjustment holes to fine-tune coupler height. Getting a heavy trailer level really matters. If the drop is wrong, the trailer rides nose-high or nose-low and overloads either its front or rear axle, so take the time to set it right.
Built for the Heaviest Bumper-Pull Loads
Heavy-wall steel, reinforced where it counts, finished in Shocker's impact-resistant safety-red powder coat. It's in stock and ships direct from Canada, so there's no border wait. If the HD air bag ever needs swapping, you can do it in minutes with the same simple Schrader-style fitting used on the 14K. Backed by Shocker Hitch's 60-day satisfaction guarantee.
