Stop destroying your trailer and cargo.
Every bump, pothole, and expansion joint sends a violent jolt through your trailer frame, damaging cargo and wearing out your truck. Shocker Air Ride Hitches absorb that punishment at the coupling, before it reaches your trailer.
Drag the heaviest trailer you own behind a one-ton and you feel every frost heave and hard stop slam straight up through the ball and into the cab. That pounding wears out your truck's driveline, cracks trailer welds, and shakes your cargo loose. The Shocker HD Air Hitch puts an air spring between the two so the hit gets soaked up instead of passed straight through to you. It's the red-finish 20K flagship of the Shocker bumper-pull lineup, rated for 20,000 lbs of trailer (GTW) and up to 2,000 lbs of tongue weight, so it hauls the heaviest legal bumper-pull load you'll put behind a one-ton. It slides into a 2-inch receiver (F-150-class half-ton trucks and class III/IV receivers included) and rides on a beefier-wall version of Shocker's 8-hole chassis with an upgraded HD-rated airbag.

How Shocker HD Air Ride Works
20K Air Spring That Soaks Up the Hit
An HD rubber air bag with more plies than the 14K version carries up to 20,000 lbs of trailer while cushioning the road shock that would otherwise hammer your truck and your cargo.
Dial It In for Empty or Full
A heavy trailer can swing 1,000-plus lbs between empty and loaded. Pump in air for the max-weight run, bleed it off for the deadhead home. The HD airbag has a wider usable pressure range than the 14K, so it rides right across that whole swing.
Reinforced 8-Hole Chassis
Same outside shape as the Original line, so every Shocker ball mount still fits, but built with thicker-wall steel and reinforced welds rated for the 20K load.
Rocker-Arm Pivot
Shocker's down-and-back motion runs on one pivot, with no slides, no rollers, and no stacked airbags, even at HD loads. Fewer moving parts under that kind of stress means it lasts longer.
Who Buys the HD 20K
Built for one-ton trucks and the heaviest legal bumper-pull combinations.
- F-350, RAM 3500, and Silverado 3500 owners towing near their max trailer rating
- Livestock haulers pulling 30-plus ft bumper-pull stock trailers
- Equipment and skid-steer haulers on 16k-plus tilt-deck trailers
- Big enclosed cargo trailers and car haulers up to 20,000 lbs
- Dual-rear-wheel trucks with a 3-inch receiver needing a matched HD hitch
- Anyone bottoming out their Original 14K under heavy tongue weight
HD vs. Original: What's Different
Same chassis silhouette and the same attachment lineup, with three upgrades that actually matter:
Heavier Airbag
A multi-ply rubber bag rated for the full 20K GTW with a wider usable pressure range, so it carries heavier tongue weight without bottoming out.
Beefier Walls and Welds
Thicker steel and a reinforced weld pattern right where the stress concentrates. That's what takes it to 2,000 lbs of tongue weight versus 1,400 lbs on the Original 14K.
Flip It for Drop or Rise
Run a trailer that sits nose-high or nose-low and you dump the load onto one set of trailer axles, wearing those tires and bearings out fast. This Shocker HD Air Hitch & Drop Ball Mount w/ 2-5/16" Ball ships in a 4-1/2" to 8-1/2" Drop ball-mount setup. Most Shocker ball mounts are reversible, so you can flip the mount to turn drop into rise, or use the 8 adjustment holes to fine-tune coupler height. Heavy bumper-pull trailers are the most sensitive to sitting level, so take the time to dial it in.
Built for Maximum Bumper-Pull Loads
This is heavy-wall steel construction under Shocker's signature safety-red powder coat that shrugs off chips and road grit, and it's in stock and shipping direct from Canada, so there's no border wait. If the HD air bag ever needs replacing, you can swap it yourself in minutes using the same simple Schrader-style fitting found on the 14K. Backed by Shocker Hitch's 60-day satisfaction guarantee.
