Stop destroying your trailer and cargo.
Every bump, pothole, and expansion joint sends a violent jolt through your trailer frame, damaging cargo and wearing out your truck. Shocker Air Ride Hitches absorb that punishment at the coupling, before it reaches your trailer.
Put a heavy trailer behind a solid steel ball mount and every frost heave, expansion joint, and hard stop slams straight up through the coupler into your truck, your trailer welds, and whatever you're hauling. It chucks, it jars, and over the miles it grinds down the whole rig. The Shocker HD Air Hitch is the heavy-duty 20K, red-finish top of the Shocker bumper-pull lineup, and it drops an air cushion right into that path. It slides into a 2-inch receiver on F-150-class half-ton trucks (and class III/IV receivers), carries 20,000 lbs of trailer (GTW) with up to 2,000 lbs on the tongue, and does it on a beefier-wall version of Shocker's signature 8-hole chassis with an upgraded HD-rated airbag. It's built for one-ton trucks pulling the heaviest bumper-pull loads the law allows.
Key Highlights
- Hauls up to 20,000 lbs of trailer with 2,000 lbs on the tongue, the heaviest bumper-pull rating Shocker builds

- Thicker chassis walls than the Original 14K, same footprint with more steel where it counts
- Fits a 2-inch receiver, with a 3-inch option available for one-ton trucks
- Add or release air to dial in ride height and load support for whatever trailer is back there
- 4-1/2" to 8-1/2" of drop keeps the trailer sitting level so weight rides evenly on the axles

How Shocker HD Air Ride Works
Air Spring Rated to 20K
The HD air bag runs more plies of rubber than the 14K version, so it carries the full 20,000 lbs of trailer and still soaks up road shock before it reaches your truck and cargo.
Tune It to the Load
A heavy bumper-pull trailer can swing 1,000-plus lbs between empty and loaded. Air it up for the max-weight run, bleed it down on the deadhead home. The HD airbag gives you a wider usable pressure range than the 14K to work with.
Reinforced 8-Hole Body
It keeps the same outside shape as the Original line, so every Shocker ball mount still fits, and adds thicker-wall steel with reinforced welds rated for the 20K loads.
One Simple Pivot
Shocker's down-and-back motion runs on a single pivot, with no slides, rollers, or stacked airbags, even at HD loads. Fewer parts moving under that kind of stress means it lasts longer.
Who the HD 20K Is For
Built for one-ton trucks and the heaviest bumper-pull combinations the law allows.
- F-350, RAM 3500, and Silverado 3500 owners towing near their max ratings
- Livestock haulers running 30-plus-foot stock trailers
- Equipment and skid-steer haulers on 16k-plus tilt-deck trailers
- Big enclosed cargo trailers and car haulers up to 20,000 lbs
- Dual-rear-wheel trucks with a 3-inch receiver that need a matched HD hitch
- Anyone whose Original 14K keeps bottoming out under heavy tongue weight
HD vs. Original: What Changes
Same chassis silhouette, same attachment lineup, with three real upgrades:
Heavier Airbag
The multi-ply rubber bag is rated for the full 20K of trailer weight with a wider usable pressure range, so it carries more tongue weight without bottoming out.
Beefier Walls and Welds
Thicker steel and a reinforced weld pattern at the high-stress points take it to 2,000 lbs of tongue weight, up from 1,400 lbs on the Original 14K.
Flip It From Drop to Rise
This Shocker HD Air Hitch & Drop Ball Mount w/ 2" Ball ships in a 4-1/2" to 8-1/2" drop ball-mount setup. Most Shocker ball mounts flip over, so you can turn that drop into a rise, and the 8 adjustment holes let you fine-tune coupler height on top of that. A heavy bumper-pull trailer is picky about sitting level. Run the wrong drop and you overload either the front or rear axle of the trailer, so take the time to dial it in.
Built for the Heaviest Bumper-Pull Loads
This one is heavy-wall reinforced steel under Shocker's signature impact-resistant safety-red powder coat, in stock and shipping direct from Canada with no border wait. If the HD air bag ever needs it, you can swap it in the field in minutes using the same simple Schrader-style fitting as the 14K. It's backed by Shocker Hitch's 60-day satisfaction guarantee.
