How Shocker HD Air Ride Works
20K-Rated Air Spring
An HD multi-ply rubber air bag with a heavier ply count than the 14K version handles up to 16,000 lbs of trailer load while still cushioning road shock for the truck and cargo.
Adjustable for Heavy Loads
Heavy bumper-pull loads vary 1,000+ lbs between empty and full. Add air for max-weight runs, release air on the deadhead. The HD airbag has a wider usable pressure range than the 14K.
Reinforced 8-Hole Chassis
Same external geometry as the Original line so all Shocker ball mounts fit, but with thicker wall steel and reinforced welds rated for the 20K loadings.
Rocker-Arm Pivot
Shocker's down-and-back motion uses a single pivot — no slides, rollers, or stacked airbags — even at HD loadings. Fewer moving parts under high stress means longer service life.

This Shocker HD Air Channel Style Pintle & Ball w/Mount Hitch ships with a 3″ Drop to 7″ Drop ball-mount configuration. Most Shocker ball mounts are reversible — flip the mount to convert drop into rise, or use the 8 adjustment holes to fine-tune coupler height. Heavy bumper-pull trailers are especially sensitive to level — a mismatched drop overloads either the front or rear axle of the trailer, so dial it in carefully.

Installation
Slide the HD shank into your truck's 3-inch receiver, secure with a hitch pin, and inflate the HD air bag to match your trailer's tongue weight. Attach the ball mount with the included D-handle pins. For loads over 14k, Shocker recommends an inline pressure gauge for fine-tuning.
