How Shocker HD Air Ride Works
20K-Rated Air Spring
Where a solid ball mount passes every jolt straight through, this air bag absorbs it. The HD multi-ply rubber bag runs a heavier ply count than the 14K version, so it carries up to 20,000 lbs of trailer and still cushions the road shock that hammers your truck and cargo.
Adjustable for Heavy Loads
A stock or equipment trailer can swing more than 1,000 lbs between empty and loaded, and a fixed hitch can't tell the difference. Add air for the heavy hauls, bleed it off for the empty run home. The HD air bag gives you a wider usable pressure range than the 14K to work with.
Reinforced 8-Hole Chassis
It keeps the same outside shape as the Original line, so every Shocker ball mount still bolts right on. Underneath it runs thicker-wall steel and reinforced welds rated to handle the full 20K loads.
Rocker-Arm Pivot

Thicker steel and a reinforced weld pattern at the high-stress points. That takes the tongue-weight rating up to 2,000 lbs, versus 1,400 lbs on the Original 14K.
Flippable Drop / Rise Geometry
This Shocker HD Air Hitch & Raised Ball Mount w/ 2-5/16" Ball ships set up for 2" Rise to 2" Drop. Most Shocker ball mounts flip over, so you can turn that drop into rise, and the 8 adjustment holes let you fine-tune coupler height on top of that. Heavy trailers are picky about sitting level. Run one nose-high or nose-low and you overload the trailer's front or rear axle, so take the time to dial it in.
